“Never judge a book by its cover” is what they think when they arrived in this very small restaurant that is trapped in a corner of a local shopping center. it's a very tiny escapade, but we could sit our family of 7 around a long table. we were very warmly welcomed and drinks offered. it took us old to calm down and decide what to eat, how the extensive specials board takes a little reading. buongiorno was for us a lockdown when we made our local walks! we discovered it in a small shopping center next to acomb woods then TA’d it when we returned. I couldn't believe the Rave reviews and how we didn't know! let's just say that we have created more than for it, now visit with many, as the dings are opened again. as couple, with friends and with the family, not to disappoint. super friendly service, wonderful authentic food and a really interesting wine list. the limoncello on the house is always a nice opportunity to finish a relaxed and pleasant visit. we will be back soon, of course!

Took my parents there for an evening meal. The food as always was excellent. My dad particularly enjoyed the mussels and bread starter, and the simple (but also excellent) spaghetti with tomato sauce basil main course. Great value for top quality food. Nice Italian white and red wines well.

Buongiorno is an exceptional Italian restaurant. The premises are tiny, which makes for an intimate atmosphere and a very personal service from the owners. The Sardinia-influenced cooking is excellent, authentic and based on prime ingredients. It's a joy to visit each time we are in York.

They said Sirloin is more tender than a ribeye, I was like ‘WTF’ ??? Yes . Don’t try the STEAK, If he's not attempting to sell discounted meat from his neighbor TESCO, is it possible that he genuinely has no knowledge about steak?

This family restaurant is truly amazing! The attention to detail and the delicious food make it a must-try. I highly recommend it. Booking a table was easy and the menu, while simple, was absolutely delicious.
