Frankly, I am shocked that this place is not higher up in the rating. It is simply a quaint little restaurant with a wonderful proprietor and an a delicious menu. The castle next door and the amazing views from the mountain top of Landstuhl and...Ramstein come at no extra charge. I started with a fantastic home made pumpkin soup, which was perfect for a wet and rainy November evening. I then had the wild boar sausages with pommes frites. The sausages were wonderful and the fries were cooked to perfection. I enjoyed all of this with a delicious dunel weizen German beer...okay, so I had three of them. It was pouring when it was time to walk down the hill to the Schloss Hotel so the proprietor...
I would give the food here stars. Was definitely good, but not as good as the food I had in town. However, the amazing views from the outdoor dining tables is as good as it gets. I ate here twice. First time, for dinner,...I had the special which was roast boar. The flavors were good, but I found the meat to be very tough and it didn't enjoy it much. That's probably more of a review of boar than the restaurant, but so be it. The second time, for lunch, I had a brat plate. Came with two large brats and sauerkraut. Food was very good. Staff was friendly and accommodating. As are many other places in Landstuhl, this place is cash only
Really good local food served in an atmosphere of the old historic Burg Nanstein as background and a scenery view over the entire valley from the restaurant. The food is really good, the service is excellent and the restaurant are placed at a top location....Just a few minutes walk from the city of Landstuhl along the Burgweg or trails in the forrest to this pearl in Landstuhl
This place has some of the best German food in the area. It does not matter what you get, everything has been delicious. I would recommend getting the special as they source local ingredients and are especially delicious. The staff speaks English and German and...are very friendly

Despite my reservation, I was "offered" the corner of a table (of course I refused in this COVID period). Many question marks on personnel and service. And this was not my only visit there
Wonderful service and excellent food. I had the special for the evening, wild boar, cooked perfectly. Nice fire going. They have outdoor and indoor seating
After walking the castle grounds this is a great place to have some food and drink. Definitely German flavor with fun atmosphere
Took my in laws during a visit. Good german food and great service. Food was WONDERFUL. Beautiful views of the villages

Try the Venison and the Wild Bore if available. If its warm out sit outside and watch over the city
