I had a bad experience at this location, where the man at the counter responsible for taking orders and handling the bill was using toothpicks, extremely poor hygiene practices, putting his fingers in his mouth and touching my food. When I tried to let him know this, he scolded and mocked me, blatantly telling me that if I didn't like it, I shouldn't have the food. Of course, I left the place. I enjoyed a delicious accapuria that was made to order and served hot. I also tried a chicken empanada, but that one wasn't freshly made, so it wasn't hot and wasn't very appealing. I also ordered chicken, rice, beans, sweet plantain, a salad with avocado, and a Malta. The total came to $30, and there was more than enough food to share. It's a great spot, and I will definitely be back!
Whoever gave this place a 5-star rating is not being honest! The restaurant is small and rundown, and the server wasn’t very friendly. The food was dry, and $12 for lunch is outrageous. I won't be returning. They also close quite early, so I recommend going to Perth Amboy instead!
I have eaten in many Dominican restaurants and I have even gone to the DR. And the truth is that I can say that they don't cook well here. Dry ripe fruits, tasteless rice with pigeon peas ?? and fried meat ?? They had recommended it to me but I didn't like it.
