I was initially going to give this place four stars for the excellent BBQ and amazing ambiance (I particularly love the ceiling!). However, the friendly and professional service from Cass and Chad earned it an extra star! Their warm and approachable demeanor created a “family” atmosphere, and even the customers were chatting with one another. I ordered the half-pound plate with two meats—brisket and jalapeño sausage—along with black-eyed peas and boiled cabbage. The BBQ was outstanding with a variety of sauces to choose from. After a recommendation from a fellow customer, I decided to treat myself to peach cobbler with ice cream, and it was delicious!
We passed on this barbecue after the Lavender Festival was a bust. We all ate different dishes and WOW was delicious. One had ribs and brisket, one had pulled pork sandwich and I had the pulled chicken sandwich. Our pages were sweet corn, baked beans, potato salad and OMG Jalapeno Cornbread casserole. All meats were delicate and tasteful, each side dish was full of delicious flavors and each table had a variety of bbq sauces. My son-in-law soon said the ribs were the best he had ever eaten. This lunch was certainly worth the trip!
If I could give 6 stars, I would definitely give Cackle Oink all six! Great barbeque and even better service! Shelcey helped us with our order selection (with great suggestions) and checked on us while we were eating to make sure we were ok. Her customer service was and is OUTSTANDING! We will definitely come back! Thanks Shelcey for making our experience AWESOME!
Excellent food, the ribs are about as good as they get, eat there every time I go through this area. never disappointed in the service or quality of grub if you want good texas bbq this is my going to place, want to try the smoked beef and cabbage, but not away from the ribs, they are so good. Seriously the best BBQ I've ever had in my entire life and I've lived in Texas my whole life. I had the ribs and they were fall off the bone amazing. I also had the baked beans and cornbread casserole. All of it was so incredibly delicious. I'll never eat bbq anywhere else again.
