Cafe 44 (formerly) Now Jula's On The Potomac

The octopus appetizer was disappointing VERY tough. The entrees were very good, though, and the desserts (especially the bread pudding) were excellent. The wines were also also good with decent value. Our waittress was also very good. The view from most parts of the restaurant were excellent, though the acoustics were such that even though the restaurant was only about 1/3 full (on a Tuesday night), it was very loud at times. So there is a mixed bag. It was overall a very enjoyable experience and we will likely return!

I've been to Jula's several times, and to its predecessor, Cafe 44. I'm pleased that the larger Jula's has maintained the same great service and food, and now has more tables with the fabulous view. In nice weather, dining alfresco is an extra treat. This most recent visit was on a 99 degree day, and a table for two by the window was our preferred seating.

The tables are nicely separated, which helps with the noise level — between 74 and 83 dbl. the service was excellent. The food was very tasty. Too bad the lobster Benedict could not be ordered a la carte.

This was our first time at this restaurant. But certainly it will not be the last. Annie was I server she was exceptional! We were celebrating my 74 birthday enjoyed every moment.

As always Jula's has a great ambiance and service. I found that this time I received less of a portion than I got in my last visit. That's the the only change from perfect.
