For years we have been thrilled by Sächsische Schweiz Wanderer. We stayed several times at the beautiful resort of Rathen. But after our hotel has become too expensive for changing operators, it has been said to look for an alternative. For the first time we were in the Amselgrundschlößchen. The greeting was warm and familiar, as if there were countless times. The rooms are simple and rustic, but very spacious and clean. This is without a doubt the worst restaurant I have experienced. We were completely ignored for about 20 minutes and we tried to get the attention of the older lady with black hair and a tattoo on her back to say we were ready to order. She said “Yes, Yes” and then proceeded to go to every other table except ours. This was clearly because we spoke English and not German. I have never experienced such rude and disrespectful behaviour at a restaurant before. After half an hour we gave up, walked out and I told her not to worry as the service is disgraceful. the amselgrundschlößchen is located in the middle of the Rath and has a small free parking space for the guests who can be reached from east via a small road. the location is great with views of the valley guardian, of course many tourists come by during the day and evening. the hotel has a solid equipment. in the rooms I want more beautiful wall decorations, so far it is a little bald. the rooms are functional and partly have small balcony. the bathrooms are bright and well equipped. cleanliness cannot be dispensed with. ess in restaurant seems great to say it was a bit too hard to eat. the service could be a bit more attentive both in the hotel and in the restaurant. with a little more liv...
Wir können nur das Restaurant bewerten.... Waren im Zuge einer Veranstaltung in der Felsenbühne Rathen im Gebiet, wollten noch etwas essen und trinken vor der Veranstaltung. Das Restaurant ist rustikal eingerichtet (und etwas in die Jahre gekommen). Der Service hatte mächtig zu tun, dadurch dauerte auch alles etwas länger.... Speisen wir hatten eine Rathener Pfanne war lecker.... Für gehbehinderte Menschen (oder mit Rollator) schlecht geeignet, da es im Restaurant sowie zu den Toiletten Stufen gibt. Wir haben einen Fahrstuhl gesehen, sind uns aber nicht sicher ob dieser in Betrieb war.

Today we were with two adult and two children in the restaurant. for us unfortunately the value for money is not true. all have eaten and drank, for the children there was an egg afterwards. all for 110€. I think that's totally overpriced. directly on the hiking trail, the restaurant is always full and then for the dinner of a child 13,50€!? that means where it is enriching. it wasn't very bad, but lukewarm. I am no longer ready for this capitalism.
Absolutely recommended. A place where you can really recover. Great nature, on the Elbe, something for hikers, mountaineers and cyclists. Great accommodation in the area. We were in the Amselgrundschlößchen, which I can only recommend. All possibilities are open here. And if you want to go to the CZ, it's only 38 km from here. For us a super winter landscape was opened. Next year it will be summer.

Was for a short holiday in the Amselgrundschlösschen and here everything was really funny! Very nice staff, ingenious service, beautiful wellness area and very good food!
