We started off with being told it would take up to 45 minutes to make the crepes as the kitchen was behind due to the number of customers. We decided that would be no problem as you can use up the time talking. More than an hour later I noticed what would end up being our crepes had been left on tne griddles, not a good idea with delicate crepes. About 5 minutes later toppings were put on the crepes and then they were allowed to sit another 5 minutes. The cook attempted to fold the crepes but they were so browned and dried out that they couldn't be folded. The cook then slid the toppings onto fresh crepes and put on new sauces. He then stood there and munched on one of the dried out crepes....
This little gem serves up a great alternative to breakfast, lunch and dinner standard fare. Th savoury crepes are delicious and filling. Everyone in our large party enjoyed them very much. I had the sweet crepes for desert one night and I highly recommend splurging for a sweet treat. They host a musical jam night on Tuesdays that we happened to catch and it was a fabulous evening of free entertainment with local musicians. Everyone is encouraged to sing along too. If you want to experience a real neighbourhood vibe this is the place to be.
We visited this small casual,restaurant and found the food to be excellent. I had the St. Jaques which was shrimp and mushrooms. Absolutely delicious. my husband had the Swedish crepe with Steele head salmon that he also loved. Our friends raved about their crepes. The service was slow. There is interesting art work on display. I would go back and highly recommend it for lunch. The serving portions are a good size. Kids would enjoy it also. There were savoury and sweet crepes.
What a shame. This used to be such a great little place. We were the only people in the cafe and we waited over half an hour for our order to be started. Now the sadness is, that although all the facilities are there to whip up a quick fresh crepe, we watched a recooked crepe being pulled out and reheated. It was hard and rubbery and burned around the edges when it arrived. Two reheated crepes with nutella and tap water $25. Will not return
