We’ve eaten at Café Doonan many times as it’s generally been pleasant enough. We’ve often taken visiting guests there as it’s nice to have a meal somewhere leafy that’s not in the middle of the hustle & bustle of Gympie Terrace or Hastings Street.Sadly, our last couple of visits have been really sub-par. Time before with 8 of us last the food was pretty sub-standard, for example my eggs Benedict tasted of nothing but vinegar. A month ago my husband and I celebrated our special day. We had a very low key, simple wedding and had grown up around the doonan/noosa area. This hidden little gem was the perfect place for our garden wedding. Amy is amazing. We only had 5 months to plan our wedding, and being her first at the cafe, she was so calm! I had lots of ideas as I was planning a lot of DIY items (photo booth etc) and the area was perfect! There was so much I could do in the space. Open only on a Friday and Saturday night for dinner and best to book. The chef is the former Chef/Owner of Rosies on Gympie Terrace which is now closed. If you enjoyed Larry's cooking there it is in a very similar style and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Meals are very enjoyable and wholesome and are based on the home cooked meal style.Plenty to choose from on the menu. Service is great and make sure you take your own drinks as the cafe is totally BYO. Highly recommended

It is easy to miss this little gem because of the fruit and veg stall which dominates the entry but once you enter the café grounds you find a lovely little retreat to catch up with friends, read and relax or just to take time out to enjoy the food on offer.

A lovely setting with gardens and a playground for kids; a very pet friendly place as well. Unfortunately the food doesn't match the environment, a very ordinary eggs Benedict,looked good on the menu with a rosti and spinach but delivery failed to match.

WE dined here last night and had a very enjoyable dinner. The food was great, I had Barra and my wife had the fillet mignon which was also excellent. The lemon crepe desert was simply the best you will ever have. Try it out and you won't be disappointed

This Cafe is just great. The staff are friendly, The food is lovely and freshly cooked and it is Pet friendly. I have been for a morning tea and a lunch with a group and service is excellent and good vale for money.

We love this little place - actually is not so little but the location with quirky furniture amongst all the greenery makes it feel special. We've never eaten here but the coffee is always excellent.

Always good. Not flash to look at but comfortable and food is great. Always an easy, reliable go to with so many healthy options. Lots of GF too and it's all tasty, housemade deliciousness
