The cosy atmosphere outside is the lovely beating heart of the village. On the 15 EUR Lunch deal you'll find simple and tasty dishes prepared by chef Eleonore. If you're lucky it is Aioli day. There is a daily menu with a choice of mains. Drinks are affordable as the locals reconfirm daily. The service is just charming. Under new management now this place has changed ... for the better, while keeping the spirit (not the squat loo though).
This is a splendid old fashioned French cafe/restaurant. It is not fancy, does not have an extensive menu but is a simple restaurant, the sort you used to be able to find in every town in France but which are now so rare. We have been several times and every time it is full of French people with not a tourist in sight. It still has an old-fashioned squat loo! For a taste of what France used to be like, this place is a must!
The deal here is the lunchtime menu. Generally, a plate of cold cuts as a starter, a choice of two mains (trout fillet or ravioli, the day we were there) and a cheese plate, all for 14€, which is pretty much unbeatable value. It's a village bar café and doesn't look like much from the outside nor the inside. The toilet is from the ottoman empire. It worked for us.
