Year after year, my visits to Cafe Loren have always been a delight. The food is exceptional, ranging from the house salad and Caesar salad to the incredible pistachio-crusted goat cheese beets! I've dined here twice in the past four days during restaurant week, and everything from the BBQ pork chop to the chicken and salmon has been outstanding. If there were a photo in a food dictionary for pan-seared scallops, it would definitely be from this restaurant. Superb! Our first time here. Nick and the entire wait staff were terrific, very friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the menu. Food was truly excellent! Seafood bisque was rich, just the right kick, and lots of seafood chunks. House salad very fresh, nice light dressing. Halibut was amazing, wonderful combination of flavors over saffron risotto with a couple chunks of chorizo an unusual accompaniment, but it worked. Veal Loren was delicious, tender, kind of a riff on veal oscar with crab and asparagus, plus shrimp. I was so impressed with this little shore jewellery! The menu was fantastic, well thought out and creative. I wanted every article! During the presentation of everything a careful care was carried out. I could see the consistency of the plates throughout the restaurant. Our server was well informed and unobtrusive. We had the chili shrimp, the scallop appetizer, and the veins. Each piece of meat was perfectly cooked. As a chef, I'm not impressed to get out. The scallops were supposed and perfectly cooked, the puree smooth, the shrimps were perfection! The sauce on the calf was brilliant, and the calf melted in the mouth! I'll be back next year!
I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! The service was exceptional, and the food was outstanding. The salad I tried was the best I've ever had, and both the duck breast and veal dishes were cooked to perfection. Our servers were attentive and ensured we had a wonderful evening. Fantastic meal and service last night! We started with a Spicy Gazpacho, followed by Chargrilled Octopus and Seared Sea Scallops, and then for the main course we had Veal Loren, Bra Shortised Ribs and a NY Strip Steak Special. Everything was perfectly prepared and the service was very attentive; we even had some modifications from the kitchen for food allergies. We'll be back soon!
One of the best dining spots on the island. The choice of meals and quality of the work done in the kitchen was fantastic. And, in this pandemic era, they did a fantastic job of curbside pick-up: you placed your order and got a time for pick-up, you drove over to the restaurant and gave them a call, and then they brought you your food. Fast, efficient, foolproof and scrumptious!!
The peanut butter chocolate pie is hands down the best peanut butter and chocolate dessert I have ever tasted, and I really enjoy my desserts! The rest of the meal was just as impressive. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting.
