I caught up with a friend over a mid-week dinner two weeks ago. The place is tucked away in the corner of the food court / next to the entrance of the cinema.
The three dishes we ordered were alright, but nothing to write home about. We arrived around 8pm. By 9pm we were getting a few stares from one of the staff. We felt as though we were overstaying our welcome. This became more obvious with mop and buckets being brought out while we ate. We couldn't help but laugh and were then advised we'd need to leave shortly.

Revisit this cafe for a quick dinner, ordered two daily special. Onion Chicken Rice and Pan fried fish and veggie rice. I am happy that soup and drink are included in the these meals.
Let's start from the drink. We had iced coffee milk tea and plain milk tea. Coffee milk tea was delectable, nice balance between milk tea and coffee; rich and savoriness. Combine with sweat, bitter and a little bit tannin taste at the end. However, the milk tea was bland. I guess I should've try milk tea firstly.

We went for a walkabout around Sunnybank Plaza around lunchtime and saw that Cafe Mi was almost empty. We chose to sit outside the restaurant as it was less noisy (being away from the kitchen) and cooler.
Warm tea and cold water is complimentary here. No service fee.... Haha! We ordered a shallot pancake to share, a combination fried noodle for me and a wonton soup noodle for my girlfriend. My meal arrived within 5 minutes followed by the shallot pancake. By the time the wonton noodles arrived 15 minutes later, my girlfriend had finished the pancake.

Menu is quite extensive; had most of the things that I expect to see at a HK style cafe... and then some more!
Had eggplant and mince with rice - ok, just standard braise stir fry; and, stir fried hokkien noodle combination - very average, I wouldn't recommend it.
Seems like the kind of place to meet with your mother (there were a lot of mother and son meetups here the day I went). Decor is basic.

Service is basic Asian hospitality; table service to take your order and deliver food and that's all you get. If you want water the waiter will point you towards the drink station.

Great prices and range! Unfortunately, one of the dishes we ordered tasted as though the meat had expired. It had a sour and pink texture to it so we sent it back and received a hint of attitude. They offered us a replacement dish but ended up charging us for the 3 pieces of meat we ate from the previous dish. The replacement dish was cooked well and was delicious but when it came to paying the bill, the girl behind the counter had an attitude as sour as the meat. There's bountiful amounts of asian restaurants around the Sunnybank area so maybe give this one a miss?
Disappointing service and wait for lunch. There was an unforgivable >40-minute wait since the first person in our company of five to the final person to get their meal. In fact, the first person had even finished their meal before the last even started! The staff, who barely spoke English, gave no explanations or apologies for the wait. Yes, prices are reasonable but for the average food and terrible service and wait, it is not worth it. I will probably not be coming back.
Menu wasn't brought out, I had to come collect it from a waiter behind the till who pointed out the menu without a word to me. Not a good start. Then to order, I had to point it out what I wanted to order.
Glass wasn't very clean when I asked for one but the weird combination of pork chop and spaghetti actually got me. I enjoyed the food but everything else needs improvement.
Good food at inexpensive prices. Great variety of dishes all come in sizes that will feed you well and satisfactorily. Welcoming place with friendly staff. Highly recommended for a no fuss and quick meal.

Went here when I was a little sick so I had congee and not sure if congee is actually delicious or because I was sick and it just tasted delicious... and it was reasonably priced
Good Cantonese food with a wide variety to select from. The place is clean and tidy and it's fun to see the kitchen at pace. The staff are attentive.
