We brought our 2yr old to Cafe Raj, and found the service and value to be A+. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and brought our son a fruity yogurt drink on the house. They kept stopping by and saying hi to him, it was so sweet. The also offered chai tea and dessert on the house. In total we had butter chicken, saag paneer, naan, rice, a beer, yogurt drink, rice pudding all for $38 after tax... incredible. Our family can barely get Chipotle for less than $40 these days, and Cafe Raj beats that by far. Highly recommend!
I almost didn't come for the previous Lukewarm review. the first impression of the restaurant is a cleanliness with clear windows and not carpeted floors. I ordered the Aloo saga and received more than enough for a person in the did, it could have been enough for two! the spinach tasted fresh and clean like the kartoffels. they have a selection of white or brown basmati rice. the naanbrot was dry, but good for the full of spinat I got. I would definitely return.
The First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley ordered food from this restaurant for our study hall event. The food is very delicious and made with love. I especially enjoy the chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. I highly recommend this place for catering and even recommend visiting for dine in.
Good Flavor, Lotsa Chicken although I could live with more Potato. Excellent Wheat Chappati Bread ! Nutritious !!! Always Fresh Meals with Competitive Pricing !!! Chapati Bread was Awesome Like Grabdma used to Make !!! Yummy !!!!!

have vegan menu items, but are pretty half-hearted about it. Example: serve flat bread without butter, which makes it very dry. Why don't they have a vegan butter on it, or at least oil?
Were long-term loyalists. We always can count on getting a tasty meal at Cafe Raj. Our favorites are saag paneer, Chana masala, and lamb josh, but everything we try is great!
Raj is consistently delicious, and has been for years. Theyre a kind and welcoming family that makes great food.
cafe raj has good vegan options. I had sweetssamosas, vegan paporas and vegetable-biryani (grain portions.)

The chicken can be sliced more and chicken a bit tough to eat. Flavor is good though
