Cafe Rathaus - Réserver une table

On my regular visits to Staufen this was always my favourite café. Sadly I have discovered that the café is no more. The interior has been completely stripped out and, despite the excellent location, no other business has moved in. I spoke to a local who told me it closed about a year ago and he thought that the owners had moved to Freiburg. I asked if it was because of the serious cracks in the walls but he thought not. A real shame!

Exponierte Lage, von Rissen geschüttelt, trotzdem neu, hell,ansprechend , der Spagat zwischen modern und gemütlich ist gelungen. Der Kaffee gut , nebst kleinem Appetitanreger, ein Glas Wasser auf Wunsch kostenfrei. Bedienung aufmerksam, nicht aufdringlich, freundlich, engagiert und hilfsbereit. Platzierung, besser gehts nicht , im Café oder auf dem Freisitz.

Decided to eat here one day while in town and it was not bad. The service was okay, they seemed pretty busy. It was a nice day, so we ate outside. A little expensive for what we have, but it wasn't bad. Good lunch. I wouldn't say to avoid it, but I wouldn't say that's a must to eat here if you're in the area and nothing else seems good!

We had dinner here our first afternoon in Staufen - very relaxing. Good cream of Asparagus soup, great Wiener Schnitzel, and excellent local beer. And with sitting right on the main square, there is plenty of good people watching to do. Try it!

Leckere Schwarzwälder Torte und andere Kuchen. Es gibt auch kleine Gerichte, wie Suppen und Snacks. Hell, gemütlich und modern eingerichtet. Sehr gut geeignet für einen Aufenthalt zwischendurch.
