We went in there for some cakes and drinks. The view of the lake is great. You can sit outside on the terrace a few steps up from the lakeside walk, or inside. The widen open space inside is roomy and bright, but not much...in the way of decor and looking fairly dated; It's as if you'd stepped into a 40s movie. Took a few minutes for any service to materialize, but when she did, she was very friendly, and delivery of what we'd ordered was prompt. The Black Forest cake was good, and so was the chocolate cake my husband had, except that it was a bit too cold for his taste. I had a piece of apple strudel, and that was good too, nothing special, but okay. People at the next table all had a cooke...
we ordered chinitzel (in the rule the court that is the same everywhere and some sparrows. the latter was ok, the carving was extremely salty and smaller than they expected. when we complained at the end of the meal (it should have done it at the beginning! the waitress. all seemed outrageous, but no offer was compensated in some way. the couple who sat the next table had not enjoyed their meal either. I think the restaurant can only exist because there are many tourist who once visit, so quality plays really no role. I felt extremely frustrated that I would have supported this restaurant with my money, I would rather have given it to a more worthy place.
Wanted a quick lunch, but that is not so easy in this area. Settled on this place after walking the long row of establishments. Think we guessed wrong. The server seemed a bit unhappy with us from the moment we walked in. Thought of walking...out, but didn't. My son had a good sized portion, but thought the black-forest ham and bacon were too fatty. My wife had a fish filet, which she liked, but didn't like the sides (and was told no other options came with the meal). I had currywurst, which I thought was fine, but nothing special. We also had a black forest cake, which we all enjoyed.
The restaurant is well-located in the Centre of this tourist spot, many tourists would walk-in but you would like the attitude of waitnesses, they are rude and impolite. However, we have noticed that all the interns are all working very hard and very professional. We...just wonder why ? My best recommendation is, unless you cannot find any other restaurants, Do NOT TRY THIS ONE Réservez une table maintenant
It's a tourist place in a tourist town so you dont arrive with too high expaectations, but surprisingly the service was more than friendly and the food was good German with huge portions. Maybe because the 5 of us ordered do many things ot for...any unknown reason we had great service great food and a great time.
