We usually enjoy our visits to Cafe Rio Mexican Grill, but tonight’s experience was disappointing. The male cashier, identified as Rupert on the receipt, was very rude to my husband and me. He snapped at my husband when he asked for sour cream on his burrito, insisting it only comes on the side. When my husband requested lime dressing, Rupert ignored him completely. I asked about the tres leches cake on the menu, and he bluntly told me they didn’t have it. Overall, his attitude was unpleasant. I ordered burritos online twice, and both times they forgot to include the salsa on the side. This time, I double-checked before leaving and asked for the salsa I had ordered. They refused to give it to me, insisting I needed to order it separately. I explained that I already had. After a five-minute back-and-forth, I showed them my receipt proving it was included. When I got home, I found my burrito was torn (see attached photo). This place isn't worth the hassle. Save yourself the trouble and avoid it.
The food at Cafe Rio Mexican Grill is absolutely delicious. You can order ahead, and they’ll have your meal ready when you arrive. On one occasion, they even called me while I was on my way to let me know they were out of hot sauce and suggested the next best option on the menu. The staff is very helpful and friendly, making the experience even better.
We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is great, and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. While it's not fine dining and doesn't offer table service, if you're a fan of Mexican cuisine, you'll find some nice twists on the classic dishes here.
