A lui seul, le nom relève de la mythologie. Le Café Romand a été longtemps la brasserie la plus populaire à Lausanne. Ce café, c’était l’émanation de sa tenancière Christiane Péclat. Une forte femme, aussi douce que son personnel s’illustrait par des sorties bravaches. Et l’on ne pouvait guère ne pas s’attacher à ses sommelières aussi revêches que mal lunées. C’est qu’il y avait du répondant dans la salle, quand ce n’était pas de l’impertinence. « Y a un ploblém avec mes salées ? » s’écriait outrée, la plus vaudoise des serveuses d’Outremer. Went with a group of 28 hungry people. The only wait staff, a Serbian lady magnificently served us and approx 50 customers coming thru the door for dinner. She was amazing and tireless. Firm and kind she saw to everyone's needs. The beef was huge and an inch thick. What a suprise by European portion standards. The wine as particularly well paired for the group, choice of white or red. You can't go wrong no matter what you order in this establishment. I highly recommend it.
Great place for fondue and a glass of wine before heading home or for a full dinner. Good service and English menu on request (I would suggest that for Americans as a few of specialties are not standard American fare). I thoroughly enjoyed the Rosti...Cafe Ramond; it had base of hash brown potatoes, ham, and tomatoes covered with melted cheese and topped with a fried egg. Delicious!
A large brasserie as we like. I had a very good half/half cheese fondue there, although the menu offers many other brasserie dishes. Large and often full, so it's best to book and it's a bit noisy. I recommend it.

Generous, honest and tasty cuisine! Period decoration, nothing extraordinary in that regard but the setting in the heart of François makes up for it. Friendly service, I recommend it!

The brasserie !! Service efficace .. Des bons petits plats typiques .. fondue ..papet vaudois .. choucroute.. Je trouve extraordinaire le mélange de tout genre de clientèle. .
Ce restaurant est une institution à Lausanne. On y déguste une cuisine suisse traditionnelle de qualité. Le papet vaudois notamment est excellent.

This is not a Cafeteria, it's a restaurant and they look very much down on you if you only want to have a coffee. Unpolite people.
I came here a couple of times, and the service was terrible. Extremely rude impolite. Never coming again.
