We came here after hiking at Pisgah. We were driving through Hickory and needed to find a place to eat lunch. I called ahead to see if, even though we were dressed casually from hiking, if it would be okay. Scott (management) was so kind and encouraged us to come over, particularly because it was Sunday brunch. He even offered to get a table ready for us and asked our preference on outside or inside. I'm so glad we chose the outside patio. It is beautiful without being intimidating, with comfortable chairs, beautiful lights and flowers everywhere, and quiet. We had a mimosa flight, a bourbon cocktail, the deviled eggs, a burger and fries, and avocado toast--all were delicious. But what stood...
Best meal we have had in Hickory in a long time!! We both had the Hanger Steak, I had it with a sweet potato seasonal veggies, he had mashed potatoes mac-n-cheese. Cooked perfectly and so full of flavor. Year rolls with butter and pimento cheese as the appetizer. They were not very busy and our waiter was very polite, however I got the impression he is fairly new. Drink from the bar took a while to come, draft beer. Ordered a Diet Pepsi with no ice mid-meal. Had to ask for it twice and it came with ice. Also had to ask the manager to find our waiter so that we could order as we waited over 10 minutes. Again super polite!! Just seemed a bit new. We made reservations and was seated at a table...
Had a wonderful meal here tonight. I wasn’t a fan of the appetizers but the main meal, wine, and dessert were all fantastic. The wine recommendations were phenomenal if you had told me I would enjoy Merlot, I wouldn’t have believed you, but our server Amanda got help on recommendations with what we were looking for and truly knocked it out of the park. Food does seem to take a bit of time to come out which wasn’t a problem for us at all, just something to note for if you’re making reservations and planning on coming super hungry! My son and daughter in law selected Cafe Rule as the venue for their wedding rehearsal dinner, and it was wonderful. The food and service were outstanding, and they were patient and kind with our many questions ahead of time. We were able to play a video on the restaurant's TV system, and bring table decorations to use with their table decor, and it was simply lovely. Meghan, Daniel, Trinity, and Joe were tremendously helpful, from selecting our menu to helping us set up the slide video in the covered patio area, and of course the fantastic service during the event. The event flowed well, from appetizers to dinner and dessert. All 24 people loved the food and atmosphere! We highly recommend... Réservez une table maintenant
We here for a friend's birthday. The food was good, and correct. I do however have some recommendations 1 server for 16 people is not enough Get the entree order put in way before the customer finishes apps The level on cocktails were not consistent. Some appeared to only be halfway full and the color changed to lighter and darker for each drink ordered and they were the same
For a work event, we booked a group of 15 for dinner. We were seated in the side event room. Our server, Holden was awesome. He took great care of us through champagne, wine, 10 appetizers and entrees. No one ever ran out of water, or drinks. The food was awesome as well. Thank you to Holden and Cafe Rule!
Had the fried tomatoes for the appetizer.. The cheese was very good and tomatoes were quite tasty. The husband said that the chicken sandwich was the best he's ever eaten! I loved the avocado toast with greens and fried egg. Little bit of tang and a little bit of heat. Yum!
I had my birthday dinner here tonight and it was really good from the beginning to end. Robert was our waiter and he did a great job! I loved the birthday card on the table for me. The food was delicious. We enjoyed ourselves and the service. We will be back again. Réservez une table maintenant
