Cafe Schubert - Réserver une table

Arriving at St. Polten station with an hour's wait for the Mariazellerbahn train, we despaired seeing only a McDonald's open early on a Saturday morning. We needed coffee. We tried the city's main square - dead as a doornail. In fairness, maybe the establishments there were just recuperating from Friday night revels. But nothing was open.We then headed toward some interesting steeples in the distance and were delighted to find Domplatz, a lively little place with the Saturday market just getting underway and the Cafe Schubert on its pleasant corner already full of people. Not only did the tables out front prove to be a delightful place from which to view the market's colorful goings-on but on the far side of the square were more tables and chairs punctuated by big Cafe Schubert sun umbrellas, so it appears that as the day goes on and more people arrive, there's another seating option right in the midst of the day's action.We only had time for a quick but well-brewed coffee and a small pastry that made up in sweetness for what it lacked in size, but we were able to fortify ourselves for the upcoming train ride to Mariazell and at the same time soak up a little of the local atmosphere on a busy market day at Domplatz. It was all quite charming, and the cafe was a pleasant oasis, not to mention a better option for coffee than the standard McDonald's back at the station.

Ich gehe eigentlich zu jeder Tageszeit gerne ins Schubert, aber seit ich in der Innenstadt arbeite, bin ich meistens mittags hier. Die Qualität der Tagesteller (Es gibt jeden Tag nur ein Gericht) ist immer wirklich gut. Oft wird man mit spannenden Rezepten überrascht! Meistens kann man sich auch eine vegetarische Alternative zum Tagesgericht aussuchen. Was sonst noch auffällt ist die gute Stimmung im Lokal, da merkt man, daß die junge Mannschaft Spaß am Job hat! Auch wenn es mal wirklich stressig ist, lassen sie dich das nie spüren ;-)Weiter so! :-)PS: Fast hätte ich vergessen den Kaffee zu erwähnen, der ist nämlich himmlisch!!

Auf einem schönen alten Platz gelegen ist das klassische Cafe Schubert. Sehr gutes Frühstück, auch (für ein Cafe) unvermutet gute Abendküche. Klein aber fein - das gilt leider auch oft für den Platz. Zu Stoßzeiten (im Winter) bekommt man oft keinen Platz und reserviert wird nur für VIP-Gäste. Das ist auch der einige negative Punkt, weshalb ich einen Punkt abziehe.

Bin durch Zufall, getrieben von der Lust nach einem Bier am Abend ins Schubert und war total überrascht von der Vielfalt der Bierauswahl.Sowas sieht man gerne und kommt wieder.Service hat auch gestimmt, freundlich, hilfreich aber nicht übertrieben.

Ob Frühstück , Lunch oder kleines Abendessen und dann noch zwischendurch - das Schubert ist absolut empfehlenswert, egal wann man hinkommt. Manchmal ziemlich voll, aber immer supergut und freundliche Mitarbeiter.
