After living in hamburg for nigh on 7 years this has to be the worst eating experience I've ever been discredited to have had. Upon entering the café we weren't greeted by the staff who seemed to treat us as somewhat of an annoyance. After waiting for about 10 minutes I decided to he more proactive and told the waitress that we did not have much time and would like to order. 10 more minutes went by. After enjoying a very mediocre breakfast which was not worth the almost 20 Euros we ended up paying for it we left the restaurant feeling cheated of what might have been a very nice breakfast together in another more professional café.
near the landing bridges you can find this small caffe. from the outside you can see the baked pieces that have addressed us very much. we ordered two hot drinks and a piece of cake. the cake came much more so that we had already eaten it before the drinks. that tasted very good. in the connection came the drinks, unfortunately one was wrong. that was not so bad, the right drink came soon. However, our drinks were no longer hot. A pity that the first impression does not fit completely.
Sur les conseils d'un restaurateur portugais à qui j'avais demandé où manger des "pastéis de nata" comme à Belém, je me suis vue conseiller le "Café Sul". Je m'y suis donc rendue uniquement pour emporte quelques "pastéis" pour mon retour de voyage. Les serveuses étaient très sympathiques et les "pastéis" que j'ai pu déguster un peu plus tard étaient très bons. Je n'ai toujours pas réussi à retrouver aussi bons "pastel de nata" qu'à Belém mais ils sont cependant de bonne qualité.
Un-pretentious, basic place for a breakfast, light lunch or coffee snack. Nothing special, just a convenient, affordable eatery. Not a place to go out of your way to visit, but use it if you happen to be there anyway. We were recommended the custard tartlets. By the way, don't expect the croissant to be like the French croissant. This is quite a different product.

Café Sul is a great place to sit and enjoy the Portuguese 'tapas'. We had a platter with roasted vegetables and fish snacks, together with a very nice rosé wine. The service is very friendly. It felt like being in Portugal for a couple of hours.
nice little caffe. breakfast to be reasonable. a little more. for this are coffee etc. and tee top. on the reeperbahn there are cheaper breakfast but there we did not want to go every morning
as an explained portugalfan, especially as regards pastéis de nata, I was right here: six for packing please, thank you. delicious!
great breakfast, great selection. sweetness without end. fits well in the neighborhood near the landing bridges and the store city
