We dined here on a Saturday evening with a group of 8 people. It took us 2 hours to receive our food. When we asked why it was taking so long, we were told we are a 2 hour restaurant . That 's fine and I can live with that. What I can 't live with is having to ask time and again to have our water refilled, it taking 30 minutes to receive our first drink, and never being offered another round of cocktails over 2 hrs!. There are plenty of bad waiters out there, but the unapologetic and almost confrontational attitude of both the manager and owner was over the top. Their food is as excellent as ever! Blackened grouper is moist and luscious. Beef shortribs melt in your mouth. Of course, don't miss those wonderful PEI Mussels, best mussels on the planet. Top off your meal with the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake with ice cream. Cafe Trio has long been one of our absolute favorites in greater KC and it continues to shine in ambience and service. It's obvious that Tai and Chris are running a suberb eatery because the staff is terrific and quality is very consistent.

My partner and I dined at Cafe Trio Monday evening and were delighted to discover that Mondays are all day happy hour! The delights didn't stop there the patio was perfectly sheltered from the evening sun and the food was amazing (the tomato soup might be the best in KC). However, the service is what truly stood out. Our server, Richard, was the most attentive and friendly server we're experienced in a long time. We'll definitely be going back.

The staff was accommodating to our seating requests upon arrival. Loved the patio area! The tomato soup was AMAZING, and the butter cake was delicious. What really stood out was their service— the gentleman waiting our table last night was so on top of it. Quick refills, checking in on us, and super friendly. This is a wonderful restaurant. They greet you at the door. I'm from out of town; but, I've been there often enough that they know me. The food is spectacular and the ambiance is perfect. It looks good, of course, and the background music sets a perfect tone for relaxation and knowing that you are treating yourself.

We have been going to Trio before the Main street location, the food and service has ALWAYS been the best. We have taken friends from in town and visitors to KC and they have always been impressed. We always ask for Richard's table as he is the best.

Cafe trio is one of my fav spots in kc. Every time I go I love it! The staff is great. The food is great. The live piano music is so fun. Drinks are wonderful. I will continue to go back here. Specials are always great too!

The best service and food! I would highly recommend sitting on the patio, it offers stunning views of the Plaza.
