The key strength of this café is its general attention to detail. When I arrived and sat down, the table I was sat at had a menu laid out for me, cutlery on the table as well as a little pot of sugar if you were to order tea. I know that this may seem a minor point, but clearly, this place has immaculate attention to detail and knows how to get the basics right. There is no 'counter ' to order from, however the staff were on hand to take my order as soon as I wanted them to. I ordered the tuna crunch sandwich and a pot of tea, which I got for just under £10, which I thought was extremely reasonable. Firstly, the restaurant was very cold with no heating apparent. I had to put my coat back on quickly after taking it off. It was the beginning of February, so why was there no heating? I ordered a ham salad, which was lacking in ingredients. There was just a small amount of cucumber, a few tomatoes, some leaves, and a slice of low-quality ham chopped up to look like more. The cost was £10. Where were the sweetcorn, red or green peppers, a little coleslaw, a sprinkle of cheese, a crouton or two? There was no bread roll or even just bread. The dish lacked creativity and was disappointing. It was the most expensive item on the menu, and I cannot understand why it cost so much. The coffee was ok...
I recently visited this restaurant for breakfast and was extremely disappointed. Upon arrival, I received what I can only describe as a dirty look from the waitress. While the service was quick, there was a total lack of customer care. The waitress seemed more interested in chatting with two loud builders than attending to the customers who walked in and left without being acknowledged. The food itself was fine, but the service was so bad that I considered leaving. If this behavior is typical of the waitress, she needs more training. If she is in charge, then I suppose she can do as she pleases. My sister and I will not be returning to this establishment.
Nice cafe with good coffee and friendly service. Had the avocado bagel £9.95 which was tasty and interesting but extremely skimpy on the humus and avocado, especially for the price. Shame as spend a few pence more on the ingredients and this review would have been a 5! Réservez une table maintenant
