Cafe Walcher - Réserver une table

Characterful alpine restaurant 2 minutes walk from the main road. We had an evening meal here which was ok though had to firmly explain that we did not want to pay in Sterling on their credit card machine. We also enjoyed a lunchtime snack of beers and their version of a pizza but annoyed to be charged 2 Euros for a jug of tap water. Maybe it’s what they do locally but new to us Their credit card machine does not work outside apparently.

We’ve eaten in this restaurant a number of times over the years. The food has always been good and it is just a shame the same cannot be said about the service. The waitress ignored us for the first 15 minutes and when we wanted to pay, we were again ignored for a good 10 minutes. I would like to be able to say it was because she was busy and run off her feet but that was not the case. Recommend the food but certainly not the service.

We visited Cafe Walcher as part of a group. The service was excellent and attentive, food was prompt and they went out of their way to meet our needs. We look forward to our next visit!

Wonderful cakes and loved the Kurbiscremesuppe. If busy, staff seemed run off their feet. They could also learn to smile and be more welcoming to customers, even when not busy!

For years this 'konditorei ' has been serving nice homenade cakes, especially the sachertorte never disappoints ;
