My friend and I visited here for the first time in over a year, we will not be returning again.We ordered two flat whites one strong but not too hot the other strong and hot. The service assistance (an oxymoron) wrote our orders down and we went to our table to wait for our coffees.Mine came out first after a considerable wait but it was a cappuccino warm and weak, when we mentioned this to the waiter (not the original one) he showed no interest did not say any thing and went inside to return with my friends coffee which was also a cappuccino, weak but was hot!We used to go to this caffe often and enjoyed good coffee and service, somebody tell me what has happened!
If your looking for a dependable spot down south to catch up with a friend for breakfast, Caffe Boungiorno will meet your needs.Spacious, but with some sound issues (3 tables worth of conversation was very loud), the service is quick, the coffee acceptable and price is reasonable.The Boungiorno breakfast, around $22 is a combination of thoughtful preparation (tomatoes, mushroom), well done staples (bread choice, bacon) and lazy options (Canned baked beans, manufactured hash browns).Overall, the experience could be improved vastly with some minor tweeks, but with little competition, they probably don't feel the need to.
We had a group of 4 for a recent visit to Buongiorno's. Haven't been for a few years and the owners were new. Our staff greeting was friendly and staff checked our requirements several times during our stay. We had a mix of pasta and chicken dishes. Food service wait was fine. Everyone was happy with their meals although I prefer my Amatriciana sauce to have some more kick, it was pretty mild. All up a good meal with good service, and prices are fair value.
We were seated immediately by friendly staff and our orders were taken in good time.The food portions are appropriate for Italian cuisine and the menu was easy to understand and not too complicated.However, the hard tiled floor tended to echo and amplify the atmospheric noise. We returned once again for a Sunday evening family meal at Caffe Buongiorno. Service was fine and everyone seemed happy with their meals. My main observation was the price of meals seemed somewhat high for what is a cafe, and somewhat closer to restaurant prices. Perhaps that's because they have so many staff on duty for only a limited number of customers.
Caffe Boungiorno is like, the next step up from Caffe Primo. Been here twice now and both time have been satisfactory. Nothing spectacular, the staff are suspiciously young but very friendly, prices are pretty standard and so is the menu. Probably the only worthwhile restaurant in a few km radius in O'Halloran Hill.
