This place used to be very good... Then after the move they really went downhill... Not only was our server totally inept, all I ordered was a chicken club sandwich and it was absolutely disgusting... the entire sandwich tasted like the griddle... greasy with bits of black char all over it... when the server brought our food she disappeared and literally never came back to check on us... when she finally came to bring us the bill, two people in my party asked for to go cups while the others clearly said they didn't want one... she brought back full iced teas for everyone... the ones that didn't want it, left it on the table... now I don't take saying this lightly, but it was almost as if she...
This place was awesome! There's a lot going on here. Restaurant, gift shop, outdoor seating, train rides, kid activities, and a live band (We and Mrs Jones) that was rocking! We all enjoyed our food! I had the Trio Platter, and everything tasted great! My wife had the Hamburger Steak with gravy and onions! So good! The service was good too! HOWEVER, we all had one complaint. Those of us who ordered fried seafood were charged for each tarter/cocktail sauce we got! I know it may sound petty to complain, but it's really petty to charge us for sauces we need for our seafood. The atmosphere is very nice, laid back and family oriented. This was my first time dining here for a Saturday night outing with my carnival krewe. I do understand how a large party could be overwhelming, but the wait to receive our food/drinks was horrible! I ordered the half/half platter, and the food was very bland. My catfish had NO seasoning, whatsoever. Our waitress, Nichole, could have been a little more hospitable as well. I was really disappointed with the experience, as I’d heard good things about this restaurant in the past and expected more.
On our adventures from Indiana to Louisiana we decided to stop in Houma and eat at Cajun critters. It had been a while since I’ve had a good seafood platter and was very satisfied with my dish. My wife had the fried chicken club sandwich and she was very happy with her dish as well. We got a bowl of gumbo for my wife to try for the first time and she loved it. This is definitely a place we would come back to when we are back in town.
We dined in a party of 14 from out of town the food was horrible the waiter was even worse, he was so rude and nasty I will never visit that restaurant again if it's the last restaurant on earth and I need to dine there to save my life I would just Die. This review is very nice unlike the food and service we received.
