Cakes by Karen helped me out when I was in a jam in October. They were able to make a wonderful cake for me, last minute, because the original bakery I ordered my husband’s birthday cake from did a terrible job. Visually the cake came out so well and tasted so good that we ordered two more cakes one for my father in laws birthday and one for our anniversary (both in November). And now we’re back to get a cake for Christmas. We’ve always kept it relatively simple with a three layer white or chocolate cake with raspberry filling It’s simply but wonderfully delicious. I would definitely recommend this bakery and I’ve only had one had issue related to the cake shifting so be very explicit when explaining how we want our cake and make sure the cake base is thick to avoid this issue. In fact, the owner remembers us and the fact we’ve bought a cake every month for 4 months in a row, so we’ve been treated very well here. We’re originally from NYC, born and raised, these cakes taste like home to us which is probably why we’re so particular about them. Pro Tip: If you want multiple layers make sure to tell them you want the bottom cake layer to be THICK. We didn’t tell them that and our Christmas cake slide off it’s base and unfortunately this is the second time it’s happened. Luckily our family only really cares about how it tastes, but it’s still not ideal.

I stumbled on cakes from Karen two years ago when I was charged with the cake for a baby shower, and now I am volunteering to bring the cake because they are amazing! Not only are they breathtaking to see, but it's the best cake I've ever had.

I apparently called for sex cupcakes and they had them available to me on the same day as I asked about them. They tasted and looked fantastic.

I have come here for years and it seems that the designs have only become better and better! You made a great Harry unicorn cake for my sis!
