I cannot rave about this place enough! It is the epitome of the phrase don 't judge a book by its cover . This place is humbly settled in a food court inside of a supermarket. Although it might not look much on the outside, and can be easy overlooked in such a crowded and busy place, it is able to create an ordinary meal into an extraordinary one! This place serves incredibly delicious fried rice. Their Chinese sausage and bacon fried rice is outstanding—honestly, I think it’s the best fried rice in the entire food court. The Hainan fried chicken is equally impressive; the chicken is marinated perfectly, resulting in a juicy interior and crispy exterior that achieves the perfect balance. It’s hard to find this quality of chicken elsewhere, so I highly recommend trying it. Another highlight is the friendly man who takes your order; he always greets customers with a smile. I was drawn to this restaurant because of its excellent Yelp reviews, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. They promised quick service, and while I had to wait a bit longer than usual at most fast-casual places, the food was wonderfully fresh and lighter than what I typically find at Asian fast food. I was also really impressed by the flavors. I can't wait to return with friends to try the Hainan chicken!

I frequent this unique restaurant once a month since I like the good air that is unique to this place. The staff is awfuly attentive and well trained. The service is awfully quick. Most important, the food you eat is first-rate. I have been there more than once and I was always pleased. The pay is fair. I highly suggest this restaurant to to everybody.

Hey, does anyone remember when this place was called Tasty Food and they used to serve Hainan Chicken Rice? Those were good times! I'm just reminiscing about how amazing their Hainan Chicken Rice was. Unlike hot pot, it's definitely harder to find great Hainan Chicken Rice in the San Gabriel Valley! Yep, I'm still a bit bitter about that!

NOTE: The previous Hainan Chicken place has been replaced by California Hot Pot. Don’t be confused by its location in the food court. They have the same menu as the Alhambra location (without the hour long wait!! . The only difference is they give you sparkling water as a drink with your hot pot and you can purchase bottled drinks too.
