We decided to stop by on a Sunday afternoon and were left with mixed feelings. Mall parking can be very tough, but sometimes you do just get lucky. The restaurant is on the Gridley side of the mall, facing away from the freeway, directly next to Lazy Dog Cafe, and behind the Chick Fil A. Hope this helps you figure out where to go find parking if this is your first time here. When we entered, we were greeted right away and after a moment's wait, we were led to an available booth. It didn't look that busy from the outside, but almost all booths and tables were filled. The restaurant does have it's own restrooms, big plus in my book! Came here with my daughter this afternoon and had a rather interesting experience. When we were seated, there was only one other family in our section (who was already eating). Within 10 minutes or so, the section started filling. A waitress with the name Vel on her blouse walked past our table no less than 7 times without even a mere acknowledgment. She literally helped every table around us, just not us. My daughter smiled at her, and she looked the other way, no smile in return. Fortunately, another staff member named Sheri recognized what happened, apologized, and helped us. Came for dinner tonight. The restaurant was busy for it seemed like they were having a fundraiser night. They need to get their customer service together. I stood by the entrance/hostess podium for a good 7 minutes and no one was up there greeting and/or taking names. I had to flag down an employee to tell them I wanted a table. He found someone to help me. They immediately sat us, they did have one tables but it seems like they are under staffed. It's been awhile since I've eaten at this location. It's actually been awhile since I've eaten at a CPK restaurant in general. It wasn't that busy that we were seated right away, which is good. Then I went straight to the restroom to wash my hands. The restroom was disgusting! It looked like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks! Then I went back to my booth and the server came out to get our order. I told her about the restroom and she got someone to take care of the situation right away. Anyway, my friend and I ordered a thin crust Sicilian Pizza and a Thai Crunch salad with avocados. We didn't wait long at all for our food which was awesome! If they ever ask you if you would like to wait ten minutes for a table or sit at the bar, just wait the ten minutes. If it's too busy, you won't get good service when ordering food at the bar. You'll probably get more attention if you are at a table. We were in the middle of ordering, and the person just disappear in the middle. And not easy to get her attention. Very bizarre experience. Also if you sit at a table instead, you'll have space to put your purse instead of holding on to it. Other than the bad service, the food was good but expensive. We got the avocado club roll six pieces, flavorful and delicious , a very small pizza $11.99! and chocolate soufflé.
This was my first time to take advantage of the Dodgers win promotion. The next day you can get one of 3 different 7 pizzas free. Sign up for the rewards first. Separate checks for 2 people. I added mushrooms to my pizza. It was delicious. I also ordered a Diet Coke and the chocolate soufflé. First thing you get is hot crusty bread. I had plenty of food and took half of it home. Wonderful service from Jenny. She is so sweet.
I have to say this was the best pizza I ever ate at CPK. I was able to find out who the pizza chef was... Tomas and Roberto is the bomb!!!! The pizza was perfectly prepped with ample topping. The oven time was perfection. I appreciate the dedication bestowed to each pizza. We ordered 6 pizza and they were unbelievable delicious!!! Thank you to Monique and chefs!!
