It then took another ten minutes for us to receive menus, during which time no water or drink orders were taken. We waited over ten more minutes for the unfriendly waitress to return, but she was preoccupied with speaking to the waiter again. Feeling ignored, we decided to leave and walked right past them without a word—the waitress didn’t even acknowledge our departure. It’s worth mentioning that the previous owners provided much better customer service, and we haven’t returned since this experience, especially with everything that happened before Covid. It’s a real pity.

Had a great experience at California restaurant on a quiet Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was empty and only one other family on the patio. The server was lovely attentive and informative. First time eating Balkan food and it was great. The French fries are the frozen type but tasty. Cover your drinks on the patio due to traffic debris and overhead tree shedding. The bathroom was very clean. Not much of a view but definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.

When you step into this restaurant in California on a Saturday night, with live music filling the air, it’s hard to believe you’re in Canada. The ambiance, the decor, the friendly staff, and the outstanding food all contribute to an experience that feels truly authentic. This place makes me feel right at home—definitely a five-star experience for me, without a doubt!

The name might throw you off as the food is Eastern European, but California restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in the east end! The service and atmosphere are fantastic. The staff definitely makes you feel like family when you eat here. The food is delicious and the portions are big. They usually have live music on Saturday nights as well. We had an amazing experience at this restaurant during our visit to Toronto. The food and beer were fantastic, and the family who runs the place was incredibly friendly. We especially enjoyed the Ajvar, Shopska salad, and GURMANSKA PLESKAVICA—everything was delicious! Thank you all for a wonderful time! Sending big hearts your way!

The BEST Food i had in Toronto.Gurmanska pljeskavica is a must,crepes are delicious,homemade bread with butter is mm so goood service is super fast and polite and their outside seating during summer is great vibe.Pricing is really good since the meal sizing is huuuge : hope you enjoy it as much as we did :

We’ve been patrons of this restaurant for a number of years and the food is always very fresh and tasty. The owners and staff are always friendly, accommodating and the service is very good. They also have a very charming patio to enjoy in the nice weather. Would recommend!

I hade the California schnitzel; pork in a lovely white wine and dijon jus. Fries were fresh, and the bread was fresh and especially delicious. Sour dough, mouth watering.Service was good, just a little slow, to be clear.I'll absolutely return to try more of the menu. Réservez une table maintenant

The experience wasn't very pleasant. Most of the food seemed to be pre-made. If you have allergies, particularly to black pepper, they are unable to accommodate your needs.

Great atmosphere- the patio was so cozy! And the homemade bread and cake was delicious. Couldn't ask for much more.
