So......group booking at 6pm (clients ....arrived at 5:45 to make sure all in order, but place locked up. Told don 't open until six (not told this when booked and to come back then. OOOOkay. Back at 17:58....knock, knock...sorry still not ready, can 't come in. Right we 'll stand outside in the cold then rather than you just let us in to sit quietly in the corner. 6:05 girl comes out, unlocks doors but doesn 't say anything at all.....maybe sorry to keep you waiting, please come inside would have been nice. We visited Callooh before going to dinner at Dishoom and it was the perfect spot for pre-dinner cocktails! The atmosphere at Callooh felt reminiscent of Brooklyn, with the whole area having a Williamsburg vibe. The drinks were a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. The staff was friendly and quick, and the cocktails were so amazing that we ended up staying for an extra one. The menu offers a wide variety of options to suit every taste preference and alcohol choice. The ambiance is warm, dim, cozy, and romantic. I discovered a hidden bar in the back when I went to the bathroom, which seemed to be a speakeasy with a completely different vibe and decor. I'm not sure if a special reservation is...
Came here as it was near our hotel and got a good write up in Time Out. Recommended by the barman in Happiness Forgets also. Reviewing here mostly in response to negative reviews below that seem entirely undeserved. This bar is extremely cool. Great decor, lighting, music. You even have to go through a Narnia-style wardrobe to get to the back bar and toilets! The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming from the second we walked in. The made sure we were regularly hydrated, provided expert advice on our drinks and paid attention to our every need. One of the best bar experiences I've had in a while. Maybe the people below went to McDonald's by mistake.
I was lucky enough to come to this bar in march for a friends birthday. I had reserved a table and could not believe I was upgraded to VIP. The service was brilliant from start to finish. The doorman who let us in was polite and friendly. Then we were greeted by someone (unsure of name, Irish very friendly) who showed us to our table. We were then cared for by Marcus who was fantastic and a brilliant barman. The bar itself is in a brilliant location, fantastic cocktails and wine, and beautifully decorated. Came here without a booking on a Wednesday night for a birthday with my boyfriend and his friends. Our waiter showed us to a great booth and was really attentive. He listened to what we each liked in a drink, then came up with special recommendations, or original cocktails. Value for money is good, given the location. Thankyou!
Had prebooked at CC in Chelsea for a birthday party. Was not told that the main bar was closed. Only downstairs available. Cocktails were average/good for the price. Only food on offer was chips and olives. Staff friendly and efficient. Left very quickly to find an alternative venue with better atmosphere and cocktails.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The drinks were excellent, and the service was top-notch. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It felt like a special treat to dine here. I have visited a few times before but never wrote a review. In my opinion, Cocktail Chic London bar is one of the best in the city.
