Chef John is one of the most talented chefs around. The presentation is always superb and the food is always delectable. Chef John also has quite the personality and makes everyone feel so welcomed. The menu changes from week to week, with fresh farm to table dishes with a spin of creativity. We so enjoy dining at the Canal Side restaurant. This was a homemade stuffed lobster ravioli.
We had a superb dinner. We ordered the lamb special with mint jelly and the filet mignon with bacon and both had prefect preparation. The chef came out and talked to us before we ordered to describe the specials and after our dinner to check on our satisfaction. Our waitress was attentive. The dinner was pricy but worth every penny. This is a nice place to have an anniversary dinner.
What an unexpected gem! The meal was magnificent and not only for delighting in Chef John’s personal attention to the guests it was beautifully imagined and exceptionally crafted plates. We tried one another’s and each was better than the last. The flavors were amazing and each dish was filling in the most delicious way. Thank you for such an genuinely amazing evening!!
Outstanding on all levels. Presentation was beautiful. Service friendly and attentive. It’s a rarity when a chef visits each table with the sole purpose of truly wanting each patron to be delighted with their meal. We were and we would return again without a second thought. Delicious freshly prepared cuisine. Fresh and flavorful. Simple atmosphere, bar connected so it can be a little loud, chef was welcoming and friendly when he visited our table. Menu changes and specials change regularly.
An extraordinary experience! The food superb! Chef John interacts with all of his guests.. he is the shining star of Canal Side! It was memorable for these first timers we will be back!
