I love this place so much… i come almost once a week. it’s a hidden gem in Adelaide and if you are looking for authentic South American street food THIS is the place. Candela takes inspiration from a number of different countries in South America so there is quite a variety of flavorsi think it’s one of the only places that specialize in Colombian/Venezuelan food here in SA. would defs recommend the Arepas and specifically the vege ones! The prices may be on the higher side for the portion size but you are paying for authentic ingredients that have been imported. Candela is a small space so would recommend take away or to book in advance.
The arepas in this place are great. I'm colombian and I know what an arena is like and these guys they really know how to make justice to this corn bread dish. The only thing I didn't like to much is the portion, for the price I consider it must be larger. The service was not to quick, however, the wait was worth it. I'd definitely recommend this place. Looking forward to come back soon
I wish I could have more than 5 stars. together with my two friends we just tried a dozen things from the menu and we were so impressed by each one thing. that was the best I ever had and the service was great. the chairs were a little hard, but the atmosphere was great. I cannot recommend candela enough and I will definitely be back.
I just had the Arepa candela. It was so delicious!! I will take a pic next tim, didn't even have time to take one as it was so well served I just wanted to eat it. I will try something different next time, but everything looked yummy! Staff was friendly. Definitely will come back Réservez une table maintenant
they finally reopened, closed after a time. it is the only place in adelaide where I will say that the best arepa should be found. the small edible, as the guava-compot filled pastelitos was quite delicious. great to have them open again, and they're so close to where I live.
