I finally had the chance to try out this restaurant on my way home from work. Despite being takeout only, I was eager to give it a try. My roommate wanted fried chicken, so I decided to order from here. Luckily, it was a Tuesday and they had a special deal on their "snack pak" meals. I also got a side of macaroni salad because I love pasta salad. The portions were reasonable and the macaroni salad was homemade and tasty. The Tuesday special came with a thigh and a breast. Just a heads up, they only accept cash or debit here!
Today, I tried Candy's chicken for the first time. I asked the employee who served me if Candy's was better than other places, and he said yes, I would be pleased. The prices are about 32% higher than Chicken Delight, so I had high hopes for it. The best part about the chicken is the coating, it is delicious. However, the pieces are smaller than what you would find at other places and they were not hot enough. Overall, I was disappointed and don't plan on returning for a while.
I found the food to be very enjoyable. The fries were good, but they could use a bit more salt. The coleslaw and macaroni salad were also tasty. The bread roll was a bit dry and they forgot to include butter with it. Overall, the meal was delicious and the sides were tasty. I would recommend adding more salt to the fries and serving a fresher bread roll. The service was friendly.
Love their chicken. Crispy crunchy skin, never soggy or undercooked. We like to grab a bucket on our way to the lake. It is take out only. My only complaints are that they aren't open til 2:30 in the afternoon and they do deliver, but you must pay cash. (Debit is accepted in the store). But it's worth it in my opinion.
