After people told us how good the the food was, we finally made our way over to Don Camillo's for lunch. We were very impressed with the food, it was superb. The lunch menu has 3 meals and also a la cart items. They specialize in vegetarian food but also serve meat. The vegi burger was delicious. You can see that they really put thought and love into the food. The staff were super nice, not to many people at lunch but you need dinner reservations at night as it can become very crowded as it is a nice atmosphere to have dinner at. Everyone said we must try it and now I am saying to all it is a must if you are in Basel. Prices are normal for Switzerland, not excessive, just right!!
I went to this restaurant near the Liste fair. I had mozzarella salad that was anything but mozzarella. It was my fault since we were in Basel and not Naples but sometimes mozzarella cheese is of good quality in that case did taste nothing. Then I had the famous fried meet (like Italian cotoletta) . It was tasty but very hard and with nerves. A good pint of beer. CHF 56 was too much comparing with the quality. To be honest: never again!!
Definitely the best place in Basel if you look for vegetarian/vegan options. The food was excellent the cauliflower steak was full of flavor and nicely served. The starters were delicious and the wine was great. The stuff was very friendly nice to add a bit of humor to our every day life thanks to the waiter, who was staying positive the whole evening! Shall definitely come back!
