"What a lovely peaceful place to catch up with friends and family. Beautiful setting, friendly staff, great coffee and delicious food. Space for young ones to run free, a relaxing ambience to let the 'older' ones catch breath. A real find and I will most definitely be making it a regular stop."

I've been twice recently, the first time the poached eggs were underdone and the pulled lamb was nice but very small, there was also an issue with the old menu still being on the website and the new menu not being listed, so my guest had come prepared with what she wanted to eat but was unable to do so. We were then told she could "design her own" breakfast using the side dishes, but that would have meant a big breakfast would have cost more than $25. The second time I got a quiche of the day and salad. To say the quiche was mediocre is being kind, I think they had some leftover sausage, cut chunks in there, cracked some eggs on top and sprinkled cheese and mixed herbs. Thats not a quiche, t...

Have visited the gallery on a number of occasions and decided to finally stop for lunch. Location is nice and sitting outside is very pleasant. Our group ordered from the lunch menu although I opted for the 'Special', southern fried chicken with fries. Service was ok but the lady who actually bought out all our meals was great, friendly and helpful throughout. Unfortunately food wise everything fell short. Our dessert arrived first (?) food followed and drinks came very late. My chicken was not bad but the bun was burnt and chips fried to an inch of their lives! Seeing the other dishes, which were fine mine should never have left the kitchen. All in all the location is great, service is good...

Canvas has a small and excellent menu. There is a quiche and salad of the day, I am a return shakshuka victim and can recommend it (add feta). I have also tasted the salad and the wrap, I have not been disappointed, and I have it on good authority that the chips are great too. Coffee is served promptly and with a smile, and its pretty good too. My coffee tragic lunch mate said its in the top 10 shes tried! This is high praise. Me - I like that it's never burnt and tastes good. All of this is in the beautiful surrounds of the Fremantle Arts Center, so you can add a cultural visit to the current display and visit the gift shop that is full of local art and products.

Visited the Arts Centre specifically for the cafe as we had heard good things. Dining options seem to be the courtyard, inside room or even a little further outside the cafe as there are chairs and tables scattered in various places. It was wonderful sat under the grape vines especially appreciated by our Eastern States visitors. Service was very friendly and efficient, coffees and drinks were good and the actual meal excellent, very tasty and a good selection even for the vegetarian with us. Réservez une table maintenant

Beautiful and peaceful place. The moment I stepped into the courtyard towards the Café I knew I was at the right place. The Cappuccino was the best I had in four weeks, since I left Europe and the carrot cake was delicious. I am pretty sure everything on the menu is superb from peeking at other people's plates ;) The people working there was super nice and made you feel welcome. This place is a little secret. Yet.

This is my second time here and the food was just outstanding. We ordered the Braised Lamb Shoulder and Full English in A Pan. Coffee was excellent. Didn't expect the coffee to be this good. I love the full english in a pan more though. The tomato relish blend really well with the sausage. Scrambled egg was cooked perfectly. Not to forget the potato, they are superb.Price: AverageAmbience: 9/10Service: 9/10

Visited here based on a friends recommendation and loved it. The food and service were excellent and the courtyard location very cozy, particularly with the heater to take the chill off a cooler winters day.The shakshuka was delicious as was my friends Lentil salad. The green smoothie was perfect as were the gluten free Choc beetroot cake to finish. Well worth a visit.

Highly recommend this place for brunch. We all loved the Canvas signature dish: shak-shuka, with braised lamb. Service crew are extremely helpful and attentive to details. Visited the café during winter, but they have heaters to keep the place warm and cozy. Nice place for Alfresco dining, allowing you to enjoy the cool breeze. Réservez une table maintenant

I love this place and have been visiting for years. Whether it's to catch up with some work, meet with friends, or a Mothers Day breakfast, Canvas does not disappoint. It's lovely sitting out under the trees or at the picnic tables if the courtyard is crowded. The side room is also good for study sessions (free WiFi).
