I had a wonderful time at the bar before our reservation, and the cocktails were fantastic! However, the restaurant was quite noisy. The food and portion sizes were good. We were celebrating a special occasion (a retirement), and while the hostess acknowledged it when I mentioned it, the server didn’t say anything, which was disappointing. The server was average at best; she had to come back to our table multiple times to ask questions and confirm our order before she could submit it. On the other hand, the food runners were working very hard.
I think we're done with Cap City. It's a shame because we've been going there for over twenty years. All I wanted when I was pregnant with my third baby was the Philly from Cap City. Unfortunately when we went a few weeks ago all three of us got tummy sick. Last night, same thing with my husband. The food is not as good as it used to be but that has been in decline for several years. However the place was packed and our server was very nice.
The waitstaff was excellent-very friendly and efficient. As for the meal, the rolls and salad were great. The entrees (salmon and meatloaf) were covered in excessively sweet sauces that ruined the dishes for us. Even the chocolate cake, which would have been fine on its own, was unnecessarily coated in powdered sugar. If the sugar content of these dishes was reduced by at least 50%, it would have been a much better meal.
Cole was absolutely amazing! And if you love a good smile, this guy definitely had one. Smiles add a personal touch to a restaurant experience. Everyone else who came to our table and the gentleman that sat us at our table was delightful. I definitely will come back again to this location. Really made this birthday lunch a great time.

Cole provided excellent service during our visit; he was very attentive. We started with the pretzel as an appetizer, which was fantastic. For my main course, I ordered the mixed green salad with grilled chicken. The salad was just right, and the chicken was grilled to perfection. I really enjoy this restaurant and often come back.
My wife and I went for a Saturday night out dinner. Both of us had the crab cakes special. It turned out to be an excellent choice. Good sized with plenty of crab. We agreed a little more seasoning was called for. Carrot cake for dessert was yummy. Megan was our server and took very good care of us.
Was the usual Mitchell's restaurant experience. Wife didn't like food after trying 2 bites. Server just said okay and didn't offer to have anything else to replace it. Still paid full price for Liver and Onions special after not eating it and didn't take home.
It was an incredible experience, although we've never had any other experiences at Cap City. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed and promptly seated. The staff is exceptional, and the food is simply delicious! Thank you for everything.

The food is always good, what's outstanding is the service we receive. And that service is delivered best by Hannah (reception), and Kaitlin and Cole who deliver outstanding service on a regular basis. Many thanks to all.
We had a great dining experience at Cap City Gahanna! We were seated immediately, the server was very personable and helpful and the cuisine was excellent! Kudos Cap City! Awesome job!!
