I went there on a Sunday by myself around 1400 to get a coffee and sandwich. It wasn't really that busy. I sat outside to enjoy the weather and people. It took about 10 minutes for someone to take my order. Several groups of people sat down after I did and ordered. They received their coffees about 15-20 minutes after I placed my order. I asked one of the staff where is my coffee. They asked what I ordered and disappeared. About another 10 minutes went by and I finally saw my waiter. I asked where was my coffee. He said he would go and check. About 10 minutes later I received my sandwich. It took almost 40 minutes for me to get my sandwich. The waiter returned 5 minutes later with my coffee. It took 45 minutes to get my coffee. I finished my sandwich and coffee about 15 minutes later. I wanted to pay but no one ever came back outside. Finally, a staff member came out to collect my plate and I asked if I could pay. She said yes but never came back. After about 20 minutes I decided to walk inside to pay. I saw my waiter and I told him I wanted to pay. It took him another 5 minutes to figure out how to put it in the computer. I gave him a large bill. He didn't have change so it took him another 5 minutes to get the money bag to give me change. I needed to leave in a hurry because I only paid for 1 hour parking which is usually enough time to get a small bite to eat and a simple coffee. So it took about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get 1 coffee and 1 sandwich when it wasn't busy. There was a lack of checking on customers outside and lack of communication. I will never come back to this place unless I have at least 2 hours to spare.
This place is a wonderful café with delicious, inventive food and friendly waitstaff. We were in Marburg for the weekend and came back to this place for three separate meals. Some things e.g., mini apple tart and the watermelon salad were so good we had them at more than one meal; but, when we tried some new things pasta, salad with chicken we were again pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Conveniently located just 100m from the very busy, very loud main market square, the café 's location was quieter but still allowed lots of people watching. On hot summer days (and evenings) they are also well sheltered from the sun and there was always a nice breeze coming up the street. I cannot recommend this place enough.
