Ehhh... It was okay. It's a restaurant located inside of a hotel. My friend and I wanted to try this place for restaurant week because it was $10.00 per person, which we thought was a pretty good deal, but we ended up missing the lunch time deal and ended up getting the dinner restaurant week deal, which was pretty pricy, so we decided to just pick something off the regular menu. There wasn't much to choose from in the menu. I ended up getting a flat bread with figs, olives, and arugula. When I got it, I was pretty disappointed in the portion of the food. It was tiny! After seeing Caprese offering a Restaurant Week lunch deal, we decided to pay them a visit. I have walked past Caprese hundreds of times on the way to the metro, but never would have thought to come here for lunch...and it seemed like nobody else did either, because we were 2 of 4 people that we saw in the restaurant the entire time we were there. I really liked the lavosh and hummus basket that we recieved after ordering. The Balsamic Chicken, which came with an arugula, mozzarella and tomato salad, was great. Terrible service; indeed, so bad that I have no idea what the food is like. I waited at the sign indicating the waiting area for about ten minutes, passed by incurious staff members, until one of them asked if there was a problem. I resisted several obvious cracks and simply stated that I'd like to be seated. After seeing a vapid-seeming waitress enter and leave the dining room for about 30 minutes and ignore me every time, I went to the front to intercept her. I mentioned she hadn't been by my table and she diffidently offered to bring my check. She didn't even realize she hadn't served me anything. I've seen bad service, but this is in my top ten instances of total service failure.
I do not recommend this place. Part of our food was good, that is the highlight of this review. It took over 45 minutes to get our food. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant when we arrived around 6:30. My wife's ribeye sandwich was not good. It was shaved and mixed with other ingredients, but it tasted horrible. When we were finally ready to leave it took well over 10 minutes just to get our check so we could pay and leave. Food so-so, service excruciating slow, over priced, equals a 1 star review.

Was in town from Jersey and stopped at this place. I don't think this place is much Mediterranean. I had coconut shrimp in Mango sauce. It was good but not great. The service was also super slow and it was even super busy. Even to get my bill took a while to get. The people were very very nice but not great with customer service as holisticly.
The service staff seemed to be struggling even though the restaurant was only half full. It is possible that they were also handling room service orders from the fully booked hotel, but it would have been better to have enough staff on hand to accommodate the hotel's capacity.
We decided not to dine at the restaurant as it was not a genuine dining establishment. Instead, it appeared to be the continental breakfast area of a hotel. We were very disappointed with the lack of ambiance and overall experience, as it was not what we were expecting.
Love this place. Ordered my favorites. Any Salad with Grilled Shrimp (this time it was ceasar), margherita pizza, and apple pie. I was in a rush so I got it to go but I also placed a last minute order for Moroccan Tacos. Bartenders are always nice when I walk in.

Good options, well prepared usual choices in salad, entree, wine by the bottle or glass. At King St Alexandria metro, so a chance to walk the historic streets. Quibble: too brightly lit! Get a rheostat people!
