Always looking for a new culinary adventure and we chose Cara Mia in Milburn, NJ. Before we go, I checked the menu and the reviews. The menu is usually typical Italian favorites with some inspired restaurant unique dishes. Your daily specialties were interesting. Since this was our first experience, we decided to go with Steak Carpaccio, her Cara Mia fatuccine with shrimps, crab meat, scalions in a vodka sauce and Veal Parmigiana with angel hair. So me and the girls got together for a girls night dinner. We made reservations for 7pm for 10 people. When I arrived I was lucky to find parking in the parking lot across the street. When I walked in the owner walked me over to our seats and we were seated under the tent across the street. In this area we had multiple servers but the lady was by far the best of them all. The place is byob and she opened my bottle when I sat. We first started with the brushetta and it was so tasty. I also tasted the zucchini chips and it wasn't my favorite. We came here right after my engagement and they pulled out all the stops to make it special. The ambience is great, the food is amazing (with very generous portions), but the best part was the service. Our server Rob was extremely personable and you can tell he loved his job. He provided great recommendations and it felt like he was celebrating with us. They were flexible with the menu options and it being BYOB was a huge plus. The entire service experience was excellent, there was never a moment our glasses were not full and they checked in at appropriate times to see if we needed anything. Can't say enough how much we enjoyed this place. Easiest 5 stars I've ever given.
This restaurant was a great surprise for my birthday dinner. The dishes were delicious and full of taste. The kindness of the staff made the experience unique. We felt like guests at home. Always a smiling face and all inquiries have always been treated eagerly. BYOB is fantastic as you can bring your favorite wines. Buckets are ready to keep them beautiful and chilled. Even if this was a special occasion, I will be sure to travel for the great food and the phenomenal friendly service.

The complimentary vegetables were cold and greasy should be warm. My husband ordered the grouper special and could not even cut it so he had to send it back and order something else. He got the veal chop but it came out rare and had to go back. Plus there were many fruit flies hanging around they need an exterminator. We thought this upscale place should have been better. Cara Mia is our favorite in the neighborhood. The food never disappoints the service is impeccable. Rob is always attentive to us we always look forward to seeing him. The ambience is soothing, romantic inviting. Conveniently located in Millburn.

My children brought me to Cara Mia for my birthday. It is an excellent restaurant and the staff is very friendly and polite. They even sang happy birthday. The food was very good. I definitely recommend it.
