there is no option for no stars so 1 is a gift. We have been coming here for years especially for the Grandpa pizza. Today my friend I ordered a mesculun salad the waiter didn 't know what it was so called over the boss who then read in the menu the ingredients???? said ok I 'll make that?? We also ordered 2 mini Grandpa pies! When the salad came it was less than adequate contained 4 grape tomatoes in total for 14.95. Then we get 2 slices of Grandpa pizza not what we ordered after waiting we got 2 Grandpa mini pies the quotes are for the fact that we never saw or have eaten anything like this before. We wanted to love it. Went in randomly for a slice and the options were impressive. Got a Margherita since that's typically a good way to test a pizzerias metal. It was pretty good. Good sauce, thin, crisp crust, fresh cheese basil. I decided we should try more from the menu. So we ordered delivery, salad, a small Margherita pie, zucchini sticks and 2 pasta dishes. The pizza was NOT anything like the slice I had eaten previously. The pie was doughy and undercooked....though the sauce was still good. Pasta was overcooked in both dishes. I prefer al dente....but can still enjoy it a little softer......but this was bordering on mushy with overcooked veggies.The salad was the worst part though,...
Excellent restaurant on so many levels. Our waiter was polite, attentive and got everything correct. Food was superbly cooked and delicious-had pumpkin ravioli, salmon with artichokes, side order of escarole and beans. Dessert was pistachio tartufo. Restaurant was very clean, tables were spread out, social distancing guidelines followed. Pleasant atmosphere. Friday night entertainment was the best I’ve heard in years. Franco sang Italian songs and there was a dance floor!!This restaurant has got to be one of the best in Nassau County. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
They used to be, years ago, one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. I have tried them multiple times in the past year and the food quality has hit the all time low. Very high prices for the quality of food. Not friendly or helpful to the disabled. I know because I’m disabled. 4 people at the counter and they stand there and watch you struggle to carry the food and open the door to get out. Amazing! I will now drive the extra 1/2 mile to Umberto's pizza. Too bad, they at one time were great .
It was my first time going to this restaurant- we came to this restaurant with my son’s scout troop (group of about 20 people). They were very flexible and understanding. They opened about 30 minutes earlier than their normal operation hours for us to accommodate our schedule. Their pizzas were fresh and yummy. The employees were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and neat. Will definitely come back on another day.
Terrible new owners. My family and I made reservations just to be TOLD that we "LIED ABOUT EVEN CALLING IN THE FIRST PLACE. VERY DISRESPECTFUL!!! My family has been coming here for over a life time and now these pieces of garbage running the restaurant into the ground. Smh sad.
