Been eating here for about 6 years now. Like the ambiance (especially patio and staff, love the drinks but always thought the food was just standard/mediocre... till today. Finally got around to trying the Serrano Chicken and it blew me away (not spicyness ! Chicken might have been a tiny bit dry but with that awesome serrano cream sauce on it... Who Cares! Served with a slice of grilled poblano covered in melted cheese, delicious! Guess I gotta sample more of that menu. Don't be afraid to try new things! Highly recommend this dish! : Happy Mothers Day.
My wife and I had a great experience to eat here. It was my first time and they had me with the black beans they gave us with the tortilla chips. My wife had the shrimp-fajita court and I had Grandmas Carnitas. The food was so good and delicious. Our alcoholic drinks were also perfect. If a restaurant has really good black beans with their free tortilla chips, you know your for a good experience. The Dessert made this experience a 5-star experience.
The food menu was limited and I was not allowed to replace or create my own dish. So we didn't order food and we just had drinks. The chips and salsa were not good either. The chips were burned or stale and the red salsa was watery and bland; no taste at all. The bean dive had no taste, so we insisted. The atmosphere was nothing special like any other Mexican restaurant. The food didn't look appetizing. Server was nice. It won't come back.
Food here is soo good. I have no idea if it is authentic but everything I've tried exceeded my expectations. Our waitress was attentive but not overly so...just right! Can't wait for our next opportunity to dine at Carmelita's. (The Roseville location is much smaller but the food and service are just as good)

One of my new fave seats for Mexican cuisine. Very tasteful, authentic and great selection of dishes. A little on the higher price side, but it is worth preparing for the quality and taste of the food. Also have a nice selection of adult drinks and mimosas. Very satisfied with shrimp shell.
The first time here, but not the last. Food was excellent. Hubby and I had a Burrito plate and everything was delicious. We make a lot of Mexican food at home, but it was nice food for a change. Stop the good work. 4 thumbs up.
Great service, food was good. Searched this place yesterday and felt great with all the articles we ordered. Shrimp Rellenos, Fajita Shawl, Tostada Salad, Churros, Flan were great. Drinks and ambience.
Visiting from out of town. Late dinner for us 7:30. Chips and guacamole were good. Hubby's burrito was humongous, enough for lunch next day. Mine could have had more flavor but still good.

The outdoor terrace was great for our 12-person lunch. A few weeks later I returned to get an order, and everything was good together for the ride home. Your Carnitas are so good!
The food is Always delicious and fresh..and our server was attentive and really nice. We really don't eat out much anymore but when we do we come here. Never disappointed!
