This Italian pizzeria offers a delicious thin crust pizza with unique toppings. The lamb and potato combination may sound unusual, but it surprisingly works well. The Aussie pizza is perfectly salty, a pleasant surprise. The food is tasty and good value for money, with quick service even during busy times. The staff are friendly and attentive. Overall, a great option for a new local pizzeria, definitely worth recommending. And leftovers would be fantastic when reheated the next day or enjoyed after a relaxing evening.
Best pizza place ATM! Ive never written a review but I strongly encourage everyone to try this place.I’ve been lucky enough to order one time from these guys and I’m absolutely addicted! The pizza dough is delicious and I love the fact that even when I order a large pizza it doesn’t even fit properly in the box but they don’t make it smaller. I like that it always comes in odd shapes which just says it was handmade. it is a simple pizza with the right amount of toppings and the perfect balance. Well done guys!
Really great, old school pizza place. The staff were lovely. The food was delicious comfort style. My steak with peppercorn sauce was just what I wanted. That sauce creamy, peppery and flavoursome. We also had a garlic based pizza with a fresh tomato and red onion bruschetta type topping. It was popping with flavour and a had an excellent dough base, crispy, not too thick and cooked just right. And the total price was really cheap. Excellent value, easy, family dining.

I've liked Carmelo's the last 5 yrs I've lived in Northcote, but I had big issues with a delivery guy who refused to come past the apartment complex entrance and was full of ****. He's gone thank god and I've started reordering last year or so, great pizza, clearly woodfired and very good base, don't normally order salmon pizza as it's hard to do properly but damned good here
The pietro lamb pizza had had me coming back every week. Amazing flavour and quality.. you can tell nothing it processed. The lamb is cooked fresh to order and their basil comes straight off a tree. The new management has done a great job of bringing Carmelo's back to its former glory. Great work guys
I have found out that this restaurant will be re-opened next week under a new owner/management who previously made fantastic pizzas and pastas at an old restaurant! any reviews below this are from the previous owners. I'am looking forward to trying it again and will edit this rating accordingly
The pizzas at this restaurant are incredibly fresh and delicious, all at an affordable price. The dough is just right, and there is a generous amount of cheese and sauce on the Margherita pizza. It's a fantastic local pizza place, and I can't wait to also try their pastas.

Their pizzas are truly amazing for the price. The dough is excellent and the ingredients taste wonderfully fresh and authentic. Normally at this price point, I can only expect to find shredded ham on my pizza.
Carmelo’s is not just amazing food but the customer service is A1 very welcoming and friendly staff adding to the experience. It’s a must visit if in the area for great food and quality people
