I come here when I am in the area and over the years it can be a hit or a miss depending upon who behind the counter. My last few visits have been good 4 star with helpful mainly cheery staff. Decent food and drinks. However my most recent visit was anything but. Getting someone to wipe the table was difficult and grudged. Getting served was eventful. Gave my order of 3 items paid my money. Lady poured 3/4 of a pint said something to another lady and walked away. Second Lady had to finish my order which I had to repeat to her twice. Very unprofessional. A bit of customer service training would not go amiss.
Visited here for a drink and lunch. Not very busy when we arrived but by mid lunchtime most of the tables were full. Our lunches came with one of them missing a few items. But it was easily corrected when we spoke to staff. Food was tasty and drink’s inexpensive. Tables cleared regularly and wiped which was good to see. Staff were helpful and efficient. Only drawback was the constant swearing from some elderly regulars who seem to think everyone wants to listen to their conversations. However most customers are decent and friendly. We will be back.
This is a good pub and we visit regularly. I just wanted to comment on the excellent service we received today. After ordering on the app we changed tables (yes, we did! . Anyway we spoke with Rachel who was cleaning tables at the time. She was so pleasant and helpful, stopped what she was doing, went to the bar and brought the drinks to our table straight away. She had good eye contact, a big smile and nothing was too much trouble for her. Very well done, Rachel and thank you very much!
Our visit started as normal but after the third pint of Bud Light the app told me it wasn’t available. A staff member said it wasn’t pouring properly. A good day to which I looked forward for a long time was ruined. When staff bring a whisky to the table they might ask if water is needed rather than running off at breakneck speed. Altogether an unpleasant experience. It might be cheap here but much attention is needed to provide a proper service. Very poor.

Pleasant environment and very competitive pricing. Toilets were clean and modern. Although they are located upstairs there is a toilet downstairs and there plenty of staff always on the floor to enable access. We used the app to order and drinks were delivered very quickly. Special thanks to Sarah who answered all enquiries competently and with a big smile. She provided exceptional customer service today and this was a key part of our most enjoyable visit.
Whenever we go out I always search for a wetherspoons pub. Today was no exception. The staff were polite, and the food (American Breakfast) was fresh. The eggs were really cooked, which isn't an issue. I just prefer a runny yolk. I also forgot that alcohol on a Sunday can't be served before 10am. The ladies toilets are clean, well lit, and maintained. Gents toilets are clean but shabby and locks are missing off some of the cubicles
We arrived and were shown to a table where we sat for 15 minutes without interruption from any of the staff inquiring about drinks or indeed food. Satisfied that we had sampled the atmosphere standard of service if not the food we left to find an eatery that wanted our custom. It wasn't as if the restaurant was busy. Only another two tables had customers.
Great place, clean tables, clean toilets and service was good We had breakfast here and went a couple of times for drinks, couldn't fault anything, in fact I wish that our Wetherspoons was like this it was clean tidy and pleasant surroundings not like Southport Well done to the staff for making this possible

They close the bar early if it's quiet terrible attitude from staff and you never know when last orders is going to be. Food is very rarely cooked and presented properly or cold with no apology when replaced
Great food and staff bit wear a jacket and thermals,their heating hardly works. Foods half decent and most of the staff are spot on apart from 1 or 2 who can't see kids having fun
