Carvel Vanilla soft serve ice cream has been my go-to treat during the hot, humid summers in New York. It’s a true New York institution and undoubtedly the best soft serve you can find in this concrete jungle. When you’re in the mood for soft serve, Carvel is the place to go—just like you’d head to Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices for Italian ices. I made the mistake of ordering soft serve there once, and let me tell you, that’s not the right choice!

I made a mistake and reviewed the wrong Carvel location! This review is actually for the Carvel in Tuckahoe, located right across from Depot Square and the Tuckahoe Metro North Station. The staff here are friendly, though I was disappointed to discover that they don't use real Oreo cookies. Instead of whole cookies, they only have the outer shells without the cream filling. On a positive note, the ice cream itself is quite creamy and tastes really good. However, it is a bit on the expensive side—comparable to Häagen-Dazs. Given that we’re in Eastchester and it’s a family-owned business, I can understand the pricing.
We visit this restaurant every year for special occasions and are always greeted by a clean and well-stocked establishment. It's a reliable option for last-minute ice cream needs for events! The cake decorations may vary, but they generally turn out beautifully. They accept coupons from the Carvel website and sometimes offer their own promotions as well. Our Fudgie the Whale cake came with a $3 discount for our next cake purchase and a discount on ice cream sandwiches. We will definitely be coming back to this location!
This place is FREAKING DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!I paid $30 for this cake as we’re eating it we notice hair in the cake! I called and owner the guy hung up the phone! After that I drove down there and he tried to give me $5 after what I found instead of a full refund or ATLEAST replace the cake!! I had to yell in order to get back HALF my moneyDO NOT BUY CAKES THERE OR ICE CREAM

The shake I had was mostly milk instead of ice cream, and it wasn't well-prepared. I also noticed that social distancing measures were not being enforced. I've been there before, and my experience was much better. Maybe they have new staff or something similar.
We make the trip from New Rochelle to get our birthday cakes here. The owners are welcoming and attentive, and they make all their ice cream cakes fresh. They also take special orders. Thank you!
This Carvel stands out as the best, largely due to the warm hospitality of the family that runs it. The BOGO soft serve sundaes on Wednesdays are simply irresistible!
