This newly opened Portuguese bakery on Leith Walk is a true gem. Not only is it the best coffee in Edinburgh, it also serves some pretty wicked sweet treats. I can literally feel my waistline expanding just from looking at the custard, cream and chocolaty pastries. Portugal is famous for their custard tarts, and the ones served at Casa Amiga take me right back to my holiday in Lisbon. My favourite coffee on the menu is a flat white; it has the perfect ratio of coffee to milky froth. Hungry? try their ham and cheese croissant- I don't know what they put in the pastry but it is delicious! The bakery has a nice laid back feel to it and has extra downstairs seating for when it gets...read more

The best coffee in town!!! It is always a pleasure to visit Casa Amiga to drink a expresso or hot chocolate . The Portuguese pastry is very good also. I tried the milfolhas and the Nata and they were very good. It feels like we are in a Portuguese café. They have also Portuguese food to do at home. You can buy Alheira for £2.95, which is a very good price. If you are not sure on how it's made you can ask to one of the staff.

We popped in whilst doon Leith for a late lunch of portugese green bean soup and fresh bread, we shared a chourico pastry and my wife had the legenday Pasties de Nata cake. All were superb and after walking past Case Amiga so often I will make a habit of popping in now. Very, very good and extremely reasonable prices.

I am here several times to drink a Portuguese expression much better than all others. I cannot resist pasteis de nata and other tasty. always take the opportunity to buy portuguese cheese and other things. people are really nice and I am always a costumer every time I go to edinburgh 50 miles away from where I live.

it is my first time to visit them and I love the easy to reach position on leith walk. admire the inner and admire it carved up roof. overall the experience was pleasant and coffee was amazing. I wish they could also start with at least English breakfast.

I had a lovely milky coffee and coconut cake. Staff nice and friendly. I try to come here whenever I am down visiting Edinburgh as I like the traditional Portuguese cakes and the lovely coffee that they serve here.

The pastel de nata are every bit as good as in Lisbon. I try to stop in here for a few every time I am passing through leith. The other cakes look good too.

Authentic wee cafe with helpful staff. Cabinet was full of delicious treats that we tried to work our way through during our stay nearby. Great coffee too!

I finally got around to visit Casa Amiga and I’m glad I did. Pleasant atmosphere, good coffee and especially good pastel de nata.
