It's been my first experience with the cocido maragato. A marvel! beautiful place like the town you are in. attention in the room, exquisite. indispensable reservation. we have been offered a menu for 24 euros (no drink) with the 3 passes of the typical Spanish cuisine. a first step of meat (with bacon, veal, ham, chicken, codillo, chorizo, repáralo manitas de pork and ear that was great, who invited to eat with an exquisite village bread. a second step that consists of an exquisite and fine chickpea with his berza. and a final step with the soup (which has been the best of my life) with noodles. all this watered with a wine from the house and finished with homemade desserts (heaven and flan...

You'll have a great experience and a full belly. The special is the Cocido Maragato, a typical dish from this area a full platter of diverse meats (and don't forget that this region has some of the best meat in the world), a full platter of chickpeas and some other vegetables (also amazing and noticeably fresh), and to top it off, a rich soup which feels more like a meat broth... It's an intense meal, so it's better to be hungry. There are other options, but this is the typical meal here. The only negative situation was that they gave our booked table to someone else and had to improvise a little bit, but it was solved quite easily.

While walking the Camino de Santiago, this restaurant was recommended to us. We took a cab from Astorga and we were not disappointed. Another reviewer said the staff was not friendly, but I had the opposite experience. In fact, all the patrons were friendly as well. There was so much food and good wine, it felt like a family holiday. I'm still not certain exactly what each item on the many plates was called, but I'm sure we did not miss any part of the pig. I highly recommend this side trip. The stone village is charming. Réservez une table maintenant

It's the second time we eat maragato cooked in the area, and without a doubt and with a pretty difference this was not the best. the chickpeas if they were riquisimos, the passable soup but the dish with the meats left much to want in terms of the quantities, the hen, the meat and the filling very scarce, the hard bacon, that if much black and ear. If we go back in the area, I don't repeat, that's for sure. Another factor against it is that the safety distance by the covid was non-existent.

a place where you have to go eat the famous maragato cook, which is eaten in reverse order to the traditional. everything was very rich, especially the chickpeas, tender and juicy and the final soup. lacked some empathy in the service. Réservez une table maintenant
