Casa Julian De Tolosa

We arrived at the scheduled time and I was very happy so se none other than Matias Gorrotxategi himself, the owner of this mythical place, seating at a table at the entry. He greeted us and told us a bit about the history of the place. He was very sweet and really engaging. We were then escorted to the table...the staff is very attentive, nice and helpful...we had their chuetón accompanied with pimientos del piquillo...absolutely extraordinary and to be repeated...no need to say: highly recommended ;

It was everything it was hyped to be. The steak was fantastic, the sides were amazing, and the wine list was filled with incredibly reasonable local favorites. A visit to Casa Julian is a must for anyone coming to the San Sebastián area.

Excellent experience. Cannot fault the service food or wine. Great ambiance but do not expect linen table cloths. Ratio of staff to diners was exceptional. Will not hesitate to return even if it is 30 minutes from San Sebastián.
