After a long forced break once again a nice evening on the Casa Luigi terrace. Started with an elegant Franciacorte, we could still enjoy the last rays of sunshine on the warm evening. The service was as usual friendly and perfect. Where else do the...ladies get an extra stool for their handbag? Even the hygiene measures that are now in place could not affect the atmosphere. The wine recommendation as always very excellent. The tasty antipasti we had chosen put the palate in the right mood for the Italian experience. Afterwards an excellent fresh calf's liver exactly on the point with sage so skilfully simple and just therefore refined. The Dorade from the grill was an equally perfect taste...
Even during COVID-19 times when we are trying to support our community Casa Luigi does not seem to need our business. Arriving at 14:20 they told us we had to eat and leave by 15:00. It is not the first time this restaurant has treated...its regular customers badly, we had heard the stories and still went as the food is good but the attitude of the owner leaves a bad after taste. No restaurant no matter how good the food is should treat customers badly. But then again if you are German and are used to such despicable customer service I guess its okay, others you have been pre warned.
small restaurant with narrow and limited seating. service was excellent, friendly and warm, food quality is average, especially for the price. we had an antipasti starter plate to share which was well shared with a good variety. I then had the truffle pasta that turned around to clog, and they were not so generous with the truffles shave. I also had a better truffle paste in another restaurant in düsseldorf. A good Italian restaurant in the little streets close to the old city. Not a large choice of food , a good choice of wines though. Lovely courtyard and good service. Not very impressed with the quality of food. Nothing wrong with it but it...failed the final kick. Everything is properly done but too scholastic, it doesn’t capture your attention, you eat and think …..it’s good but not memorable.
