My friends and I went to Cassava for Sunday brunch. We made an online reservation, but the place wasn't as busy, so walk-in would have been fine too. The walls of the restaurant are adorned with bright hues, and the large, expansive windows fill the space with an abundance of natural light, making it very warm and welcoming. We tried quite a few items from the menu- 1. Bread basket 2. Fried chicken 3. Baked egg skillet 4. Pain perdu 5. Mussel fries 6. Barley tea The bread basket was decent. It came with butter and house berry jam. The beryy jam was good but very watery and didn't have the traditional jam like consistency. The croissant was very light and flaky. Cassava has truly outdone themselves with their new French bistro brunch! From the moment I walked in, I was transported to a charming Parisian cafe. The ambiance was delightful with an inviting atmosphere. The menu is a brunch lover's dream come true. Each dish was a delectable masterpiece, showcasing the perfect blend of traditional French flavors with a modern twist. We began our meal with fries that were crispy and delicious, topped with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and accompanied by a mayo dipping sauce. We enjoyed them so much that we ordered a second serving. For our main courses, we had the Rigatoni and Buttermilk Fried Chicken, both of which were excellent. The sauce for the rigatoni was flavorful, and the fried chicken was juicy with a crunchy, tasty coating—which isn't always the case at other places. For dessert, we tried the Chocolate Pot de Crème, which was just alright; it came with a fruit sauce that I didn't particularly like, and the chocolate itself was only passable. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner.

We went to the restaurant for Thanksgiving. All of the courses were well thought out, and the flavor profiles were complementary. The staff was on point and super kind. What stuck out the most was the biscuit and butter, the moist turkey, the cranberry sauce, and the poached pear dessert with chocolate covered honeycomb. It felt like Thanksgiving but better. I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was impeccable and relaxed, making it a welcoming atmosphere. The food was not only beautiful but also absolutely delightful, featuring unique touches and excellent flavor combinations. The fried chicken was incredibly moist—definitely their specialty! This is the 2nd time we trusted them with our anniversary dinner. They again did not disappoint! We ate at their new location in North Beach for the first and enjoyed the bigger space. The owners have such an amazing philosophy, and everyone there really cares for their customers. We had the pre-fixe meals with the wine pairings and we highly recommend ! This is a gem in the city!

I had a fantastic early Sunday night dinner! The rigatoni and squash blossoms were both delicious and captured the essence of summer perfectly. Also, I highly recommend the pork chop, which I didn’t get a picture of but is definitely worth trying! The lovely husband and wife team really know how to deliver a great dining experience!

Brought a friend from NY and did the 5 course tasting menu. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Great staff, and even better food. The atmosphere was cozy but never felt cramped. I'm looking forward to the next time I'm in North Beach so I can stop by again. Réservez une table maintenant
