We stopped in Torquemada as a stop-over in a long drive north. What a wise decision to check out the Catalina de Austria Restaurant instead of eating at a service station on the highway. The restaurant is unassuming yet the menu is outstanding with delicious traditional Spanish food with a modern twist. We tried the fava beans with piglet, game with boletus and mushroom ravioli on foie sauce, accompanied by the outstanding regional wine (Arlanza). Glad that we left some space for dessert, as the choices are incredible at a great value (torrija, Torquemada chili ice cream or fig and “rebozuelo” mushroom mousse). We let ourselves be carried away by the good reviews that I had, and although you enter the image is not very pleasant, the food is very good. that you enter the restaurant and have the “office” there is not good. the menu is based on food from the area, we order from incoming clay to the plate, homemade croquettes and wooded foie salad and torquemada peppers. of second litter between roast and squid on the plate, of torrija dessert. highlight the size of the rations and the well done that was the bleach. no doubt a good discovery!

all a discovery of the Catalan restaurant of austria in torquemada. a letter filled with good product, at prices up to too affordable for the quality they contain, aderezados de taps of a kitchen concerned about bringing value and that the owner explains to the comensales with absolute naturality, pedagogy and starry. to repeat!

We ate in here as we were stopping in the excellent hostel. Lovely friendly staff, excellent value for money, one of the choices for starter was salad I was expecting just greens like normally happens but it had egg, tuna, amazing peppers etc etc. So glad we ate here.
What an amazing experience, the staff, ambience and food were all excellent. The calamari starter and steak main course were superb. The pudding, recommended by the lovely waiter was just perfect! So pleased we found this wonderful authentically Spanish restaurant

I've known many years and I've been surprised to have a place to be so cozy! the menu of your restaurant, fabulous! I'll repeat it!
