Great place for seafood better in Lumberton. Her main thing is her catfish, which is roasted to the right degree of crippiness or grilled for perfection. They also have shrimps, crab cakes and oysters. This night I was disappointed because I wanted to get the combo of Wels and Oysters, but they were from Oysters and that was on a Saturday! So I just chose to get the big order of roasted fish with a baked potato. You have a beautiful salad bar and also a potato bar for everything you want to repair your baked potato for your pleasure! My wife chose her seafood plate that came with grilled catfish, two crab cakes, grilled yarn and a grilled Stuffed Shrimp and NO Oysters! She also ordered the baked potato for her side. To start all this, we ordered an appetizer of stuffed jalapenos filled with Cheddar cheese. Again I was a little disappointed as a seafood restaurant I thought they were seafood filled jalapenos with crabs and shrimps, but they were okay. We had iced tea for drinks. With a big group, a family member was retired. Everyone was pretty happy with their food. Our server for the evening really did an excellent work to with our table, she had a great personality!!! They have a bar and serve beer, and someone wanted beer, but there was a problem with their alcohol license and they were not able to serve alcohol at that time. I want to go back because it really had a nice atmosphere. You bring peanuts to your table on arrival and encourage the mosquitoes to throw the bowls on the ground!!!
My family ate in Catfish Cabin as I remember it was always one of my favorite places to eat for lunch. We now take my daughter who is a very picky eater because she loves the fried shrimps. The salad bar is worth almost the sometimes standing room only on Friday or Saturday night and you will not find any better service. The only complaint I have and reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that everything on the lunch menu is $12.95 or more, which is kind of for a lunch for the regular person, tho I understand that everything goes up here latley... just wish it were our salary.
